my only sticking point is galbalan i cannot even hit him, i was wondering about the rest of you. do you guys have any slow down in your game? i am useing a very good graphic card Geforce 6800 FX and i still get frame rate issues. mainly when i get alot of enemies on the screen, in the lava pit i first got it when you go on the screen where there is about 70 little bugs and you need the whirlwind slash to truly beat them any way i can stop that from happening? chris

thanks i will give it a try . there are a few other parts like that as well, the worst is in the clock tower. there are so many enemies it slows down not just the game but the controller , once the controls slow down it does not respond properly, it sucks that in a few places i need to play the game on a lower setting in order to get through it. i wonder what i need to do in order to play the part properly, i have a good graphic card. i probablly need to update my proccessor, what speed are you running at anyhow?

My game keeps freezing randomly. I think it's a sound issue because everything will just freeze frame and the sound will become one loud beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep that never ends until I turn my PC off. Ctrl-Alt-Delete does nothing nor does Alt-F4. the only way to end the madness it to reset, reboot, and try again. Anyone got any suggestions?
System specs are: P4 3Ghz 1GB PC3200 ddr RAM ATI 9800pro 128MB Soundblaster Audigy 2zs PlatinumPro WinXP

i had the same problem every time i fought Garland i would get a blue screen of death ( it kept saying there was a sound error) or a freezed screen and a loud long beep noise, i would recommend updating all of your sound drivers that is what i did and i have had no problems since.

Yeah, I'm convinced it's a sound thing now. I turned the Sound Effects all the way down and haven't had it freeze up on me yet.
My drivers are pretty up to date though as I just updated everything less than a month ago. I'll give it a shot though, thanks for the help.

I believe you can only pick up Herbs if you don't have full health.
Also, for anyone that might know: After you've installed the game, do you need to have the Regional Settings set to Japanese in order to properlay PLAY the game? Or is that *just* during teh INSTALL process?? just curious. I've been going back and setting it to Japanese everytime I play.

The sound card issue is most likely with Environmental Audio. I get that problem with all of my more modern games that use EAX freely (in fact it causes huge problems while I'm playing Guild Wars). Back when I used to play World of Warcraft my computer used to randomly reboot until I switched off the EAX option.
I read that there was some sort of shoddy implementation with Creative Labs and EAX, but if you're not using a Creative Labs sound card, I'm not sure what to say about that.

Yay - it finally arrived. And amazingly works on my PC. :)
Question - I'm trying to fight the second boss (Ellefale). I have the ring, and can shoot fireballs at her, but it's not doing much damage. The FAQ on GameFAQs mentions that it's possible to "charge" the fireballs, and the in-game instructions seem to imply that as well. However, I can't seem to figure out the "how". (Holding down the button doesn't seem to do anything - a fireball shoots out when I release it, but it seems to have the same power as just tapping the button, and uses the same amount of energy).
So - any advice?
(It's probably so simple... 8) )
Thanks in advance...

You have to have the first Ruby. Backtrack a bit, and look for that translucent chest. Use the Fire magic to light the torch next to it and then you'll be able to open it. The Ruby's inside. d'oh! 'thought it'd be something simple like that. I saw the chest, but thought it may have been something that became available after beating the boss. I should have paid more attention to the background. Thank you muchly!

I'm currently at the save right before the final boss on Nightmare mode. I'm level 53...and I still can't beat Galbalan. -_-
Are there any other good sources for fast exp besides the monsters in the final level? It seems that at this rate, it'll take me a good 2 hours to level up...
Edit: Well if there aren't any, I just need some tips on beating him. He never gave me this much trouble in the other modes (obviously).

Nevermind. I beat him shortly after I posted. That Earth Bracelet is really something. It got me out of some tight situations during the fight. And no, I didn't use the debug code. It simply just takes the fun out of the game. I'll probably try it out though once I finish my fourth playthrough on Easy.

Don't worry about that just yet. You'll learn that ability once you get to the Abandoned Mine.

Har, har... I did something real stupid. I only just realized that there's a Dash in this game, but I didn't notice until after I killed Dularn (had no idea what that item did until I looked it up). That would've made fighting Gyalva much easier than it was.

Hmm, I ran into a very strange problem today. I was playing through easy mode, and I made it to the last boss. But then the boss wasn't coloured correctly. That is... the last 2 bosses appeared only in the colour blue. I'm QUITE certain that it's not supposed to be that way. Furthermore, when I started a game in normal, i noticed that the FIRST boss was coloured blue, just like the last 2 bosses. Now I'm quite sure that SOMETHING is wrong, because I don't recall the first boss being a pure blue colour. I have not changed any config settings between the time of coloured bosses and non-coloured bosses, so I really have no idea why this is happening. Even now, if I put the config as the highest setting [by clicking the high quality button], it does this. Can anyone help me?
