I have hope for it to be released in North America so that everyone else will grin. If Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim can come here, then why stop? I was thinking about some situations that happened with this game just as it happened with Ys VI but I don't know much about it and whether or not to be sure it's an actual sign.

I doubt it. YsVI had really low sales in the US, and it doesn't sell well here in Europe either. Also, if it DOESN'T get released in the US, the finished translation will probably be released.

Personally I Hope Konami decides NOT to bring it over on the PS2, PC or any system for that matter. I would much rather have the original PC version With one of Nightwolves awsome patches :}

YsVI had really low sales in the US, and it doesn't sell well here in Europe either. What makes you think Konami wasn't prepared for that? Seriously, when it comes to niche titles, Ys takes the cake. I was under the impression that Ys: The Ark of Napishtim had a limited release (I have yet to even see a copy since I bought one the day it came out, and even then I saw a grand total of four out on stands). I love Ys, but if the series is going to be relaunched outside of Japan over here losses should be more than expected with such an obscure series.

Well, it took nearly a year and a half for Ark of Napishtim to come over to the US so if Oath has any chance then next year will be it. I just wish Konami would say something. Either were doint it or were not!

YsVI had really low sales in the US, and it doesn't sell well here in Europe either. What makes you think Konami wasn't prepared for that? I never said that. I just said it didn't sell well. And that was to be expected (of course). In the case of Xanadu Next (another Falcom title, released worldwide for the N-Gage), it was even harder to find. Actually, I have never seen it in a store. Not even online! I can ONLY find it on Ebay! Sure, the N-Gage isn't as big as the PS2, but I've seen most other N-Gage titles in stores. Particulary online! (Actually, it is impossible to buy Xanadu Next in Sweden, not a single store has it. Even though it says it's available here on the N-Gage homepage.) YsVI was recently released in Europe, and I've actually seen it in a store. It was in the middle of the PS2 shelf. It was there, looking at me with its ridiculous price tag (about $70). Even though I already own the North American version, I was extremely tempted to buy it. I considered it for a long while, but decided that it'd be useless to buy a game that I already own more than one version of - and that it was expensive as hell. Anyway, I don't really know where I'm going with this. He he. Seriously though, if they TRIED, Falcom could release their games worldwide, I'm sure of it. Xanadu Next for PC has to be their best game yet. It's a totally amazing title. It is so much better than Ys. Much, much better. Almost every Falcom title gets released in Korea, Taiwan and China. They are very popular in these countries. If more American/European companies would license Falcom's software, I'm sure it'd work out just fine. The only thing it takes is courage. Nokia licensed Xanadu Next, but the marketing for it was terrible. Just - completely - terrible. Konami licensed YsVI, but the marketing was terrible there as well! If they had put some money on the marketing for these titles, they could have been big.

Either were doint it or were not! Try No chance. What happens when the PS3 comes out? They will stop making PS2 games or shortly after. And I doubt OiF will go over to the PS3. I predict the English patch will get released eventually we just gotta be patiant. Hehe someone should write Konami and ask em.

hmm...Well, Konami announced their publishing rights to YsVI near/right after Christmas the same year it came out on PC. So, my best bet would be to wait until then for The Oath in Felghana.

Of course they will not stop making PS2 games anytime soon. There are TONS of games in development and lots and lots and lots of games being released real soon. Porting Ysf to PS2 wouldn't take long and if Konami would be interested in it, they could definitely do it.
The thing is, though - they won't. I assure you.

I'm sure if they poured some actual cash into the series' advertisement budget and released both PC and PS2 versions, they'd make some very nice sales.
I mean, Ys trailers really sell themselves... the fast-paced music catches your attention then you notice the jaw-dropping boss battles and gameplay on-screen...
Ys Trailers have definitely got to be the best ever.

Yeah I remember when I first saw the trailer for Ys VI. Jaw dropping stuff. The sales haven't been what they could have, which makes me think it won't make it to the PS2. I won't give up though.

yeah, the sales for Ys VI weren't that great, but it's not like they pushed ANY ads at all... the only reason I knew of Ys VI was from past experience lol... if not for that, I may have never even gotten it. Even a tiny step up in the advertisement would do it... a short tv-spot showing a badass trailer? or on just websites? anything could help! XD edit: bahhh I emailed Konami... seems like there's no chance at the moment. We regret to inform you that at this time there is no information regarding the possibility of releasing Ys: Oath in Felghana for the PS2 or PC. Please keep checking our website for information. www.konami.com/gs Sincerely, KDEA- Customer Support ;_;

There were PS1 games being released long after the PS2 was out. Granted, Sony sure frowned upon it, but with the PS1 being obscenely easy to program for, I can't say I'd blame them.
Sony has a nasty habit of hosing developers for shoddy quality development kits so I wouldn't be suprised if the PS2 enjoys releases for at least a year after the PS3 comes out. Konami sunk a lot of money into Ys VI on PS2 and it's doubtful that they got the return(sheesh, what's wrong with the cutesy little SD characters? The English voice overs are Last Alert bad. To think someone paid money for them. ;P)
