= ) Fair and square. Those who helped them deserve somekind of benefit, I suppose. ^^ Well, I'll be waiting for the public patch then. I'm feeling kind of uneasy, because I didn't help they after all...sry I'll try helping out a little with donating when Ys ORIGIN's turn comes. I can't say in words how much I appreciate Deuce and NightWolve's translations for Ys games. You guys rule a lot. = ) Anyway, I'm overwhelmed to know the patch is coming! =D Cheers! *crashes the bottles of bear* woops...

I've been playing the game with the english patch and It's working great. I"ve only got to the Elldern Mountains so far. The mural inside the Abandoned Cave is not translated yet in this patch but that and a couple other minor things should be cleared up by next month.

That's basically just a matter of editing the image. The actual translation of the text has been done for over a year. Editing the bitmap text in the new Ys games is a bit of a pain, as it's not just BMPs like the Completes... but rather DDS files (DirectDraw Surface, if memory serves), and all of the fun that involves, like messing with alpha channels and the like. I need to get Photoshop and learn my way around DDS files for Origin, to make things go more smoothly. I'd also like to learn how to edit DDS files a bit more so that I can help out a little more this time with Origin if you all need extra editors. -SkyeWelse

Yeah, I got the patch earlier this week. I finished the game 2 days later... Wednesday IIRC, and provided all of my feedback directly to Nighwolve. I'd call the patch 98% there. Just the mural translation, one relatively out-the-way font issue, and some brief grammatical/vocabulary issues, and it's as good as done, as far as I'm concerned.
It was absolutely brilliant playing it in English. Game works fantastically well with a wired X360 pad plugged in via USB, btw. YsO as well.

Quote from Dogi,"You Son of a Bitch!"
This one was priceless.

I played YsF JP with the Dual Shock 2, and YsF EN with the 360 pad, and largely preferred the 360.
Not a huge fan of Dogi's foul language in this translation, to be quite honest.

I dunno, he barely curses in this one, and he IS a very rough speaker in Japanese. Cases like that can be tough because what would be the equivelant of cursing in english is often just saying something impolitely in Japanese. I thought the occassional mild curse added to his character.

Dogi SHOULD curse. He's a cursin' kinda guy. Though my favorite Dogi quote, ever, is from Konami's translation of Ys VI: "They call me Dogi the Wall-Crusher. Wanna get your walls crushed?!" -Tom Ha ha! You should play Ys IV PCE.

Dogi does curse? He seems like the type.
But then again I've found Dogi to seem like the type of tough nice guy.

He used to be a thief. That pretty much gives it away.
