Is anybody here collecting Ys (or other Falcom) games/memorabilia? If so, is it something in particular that you collect? Do you have photos of your collection? Personally, I collect Ys games. My goal is to own every Ys game ever released (not just Ys 1-6, but all the different versions and re-releases of the games). There are close to a hundred unique Ys game releases and I want them all (right now I have pretty much every Ys console game including many computer games). I try to get some Ys "stuff" every now and then, like books, posters, cds, figures and whatnot, but these things aren't that interesting to me, I tend to stick with the games. I also collect older Falcom games, and I'm hoping to get them all someday (i e every release, etc.. ha ha). I don't have a nice shelf/room to store my stuff right now, so I won't take any photos of my stuff yet (I'll also get a lot of new stuff from November to January, so I'll wait until then).

I'd like to see a picture of that! I'm not a collector, I guess. I play the games, MOST of which I own. But aside from the games and the little bonuses they throw in (8 soundtracks with OiF? Yay!), all I have is one poor little unpainted series 1 Adol figure. Really sad, considering that Ys has got to be my favorite game series, and it carries a lot of nostalgia for me. I just missed the boat on a lot of this stuff -- I played I and II on the Turbo Duo as a little kid, but after hearing about III's flop, I just lost track of the series. The fact that nothing came stateside for many years didn't help. Or that as a kid I had no real income. Now, the collector's items seem only to be available from collectors themselves, who charge a fair amount for them on places like Ebay. I'd like to have more, but I can't part with so much money. And I'm only a closet geek -- I'm still denying/trying to hide it.

Here's the link to my collection I posted in the Member's Picture thread: Ys ShrineI've spent way more money than I care to think about buying Ys stuff over the years. I don't really have a goal to get all the games or anything, I just kinda buy it if I see it and like it. I don't have nearly as much money for the stuff as I used to so now I pretty much just will buy the games and soundtracks. Although I'll have to buy a figure collection 3 if Falcom makes one. Sooner or later I'll make a list of everything that's here. It's really not as much as you'd think.

I have a lot of the figures, plus I have an expresso mug and laundry bag I haven't ever seen appear on Yahoo! Japan. I've got a fair number of the CDs and console games but nothing really amazing. I also collect art books like a maniac. EDIT: Here it is...THE MUG My most "obscure" Ys item...

Wow, an Ys III coffee mug Majuunun! And seeing all of Savory Cade's stuff makes me want those figures even more. Haven: No bootlegs, those are freelance game composer/doujin CD creator Atsushi Fukai's (Project Ys) Ys Doujin CDs, if you want to hear good Ys arrangements (particularly Ys VI) his works are worth checking out. At least a couple members here I know of really like the Ys VI CD. Any other non Falcom releases there are doujin CDs as well. Fukai's website

I just started a Ys collection, besides the game releases , is there any good resources for finding out exactly what soundtracks and merchandise has been released?

Here is a great resource for the CDs: Falcom CD Catalog-English EditionAs for other merchandise, I can't think of any sites right now that list Ys stuff that has been released.

There's SO much merchandise out there that it's impossible to keep track of it all, I'm afraid. Oh and by the way: Welcome to the boards, DariusGrey!

Looks like I have an uphill battle for the merchandise part ;> I think I'll start compiling a list of what I find and maybe we can end up with a partially complete one on these boards. And thanks, Ys was the first RPG I ever played at the age of 6, and I just recently "Rediscovered" the magic after finding out what a surprising influence its had on some aspects of my life. Found these boards linked on Wikipedia , So thanks for the welcome ^^ Edit: Question, for collecting, how do you guys deal with bootleg stuff? I'm having alot of trouble telling whats real and fake on ebay(So far my general rule is to avoid everything from HongKong), but then, alot of the HK sellers have some rare items *assuming they're legit*. Edit again: Examples: Link 1Link 2Same seller, same item, two different prices, pictures are different, from hongkong, Is it safe to assume these are bootlegs?

Couldn't get to the second link but I assume from the title that the reason the price is different is because the first item comes with an extra soundtrack cd. Now I'm no expert but I think it's safe to say those are legit.

There aren't many Falcom bootlegs out there (only a homemade really lame Ys 1-2 Complete bootleg that's been appearing on Ebay a lot), and those certainly aren't. The first one's Falcom Classics II Limited Edition and the second is the standard edition.

Thanks, I guess I'm just being abit paranoid.
I've been burned on ebay bootlegs to many times it seems ;>
Edit: Just bought both, watch it be my luck my intution was right!

What about the tracks foundable only on tape or Vinyl, like "Xanadu vs Ys" tape (which I recorder on MP3 or the Xanadu - Anthem Vinyl?

Heres the humble start of my Ys collection, as items arrive in the mail. Went and bought a shelf for Ys and various gems of my gaming collection.
