I was looking at Falcom's site and drooling over Ys VII ( www.falcom.com/ysf/download/index.html )and Legend of Heroes VI, does anyone know if any publishers are planning on porting Ys VII to the US?

That's not Ys VII at all, that's Ys: The Oath in Felghana - a 3D remake of Ys III. It will probably never get released outside of Japan.
NightWolve is having translation projects for both games though (YsF and ED6).

I couldn't fight my way through Ys III because of the sidescrolling gameplay. It looks VERY much like Ys VI as far as gameplay goes. I'll definately look into that. I assume Nightwolve only translates for the PC version? Is there a website I should check or will a google search do it?

Wanna bet that when he plays Oath in Felghana, he'll be obssessed with Ys? LOL Trust me, it won't take that to get me addicted. I've loved the Ys story since I played Book I and II on my TurboDuo I just don't get to see many Ys games in the US. None of the cool stuff makes it over from Japan, and when it does they tend to mess it up. Case in point, the addition of that crappy CG cutscene in Ys VI. I almost lost my lunch. At least Falcom was smart enough to make them leave the Anime cutscenes in a cheat code. US Publisher's just need to figure out they only need to translate the WORDS to english. Leave the rest alone! Maybe Nightwolve could teach them something.

Nightwolve: "A litteral translation is a bad translation." seriously though, i WOULD settle with atleast a litteral translation... just some kinda translation... even a Zero Wingish translation! For great justice!!

While we're on the subject, who's translating the text of ED6?
Because i'm still debating on trying the series out.

Nightwolve: "A litteral translation is a bad translation." Litteral? You mean literal? And I believe it was Deuce who said those words - not NightWolve. Deuce's the one who translates those texts, so it's more likely that he said that. Well, I should clarify: Translate the words, don't change the game.

They did state that there was a new Ys PC game in the making. And that said game had nothing to do with Ys Online or (I believe) Ys Strategy. Beyond that, however, all things are mysteries.

Falcom will release a new Ys game for PC in 2006. It is yet unknown if it is an YsIV remake or an entirely new game.

Ys 7 eh? Sounds ever so interesting... with all these speculation... Ys 7 seems more like a code name then an actually title like Ys 7: The Return of Darm...
dunno, i just threw that one out... lol

I'd sorta like to see a PC version of Ys Strategy, myself. Proper online play and the potential for new stuff a'la Blizzard with Frozen Throne.
Yeah, I know it was done by different guys. Let me be wishful ;_; =/

After being wowed by YsF, I'll certainly have no misgivings about dumping my money into another import of Ys for PC, even if it's another remake (of, say, Ys IV~?). I'm kind of a fan of remakes anyway, provided they're well-done. (Lunar series comes to mind... loved the original SegaCD games, and I was thrilled with their PS reimaginings ^.^) Plus, any opportunity to play Ys IV without having to jump through great hoops to buy something LONG out of print would make me a happy little girl.
