So, would be anyone interested in seeing an Ys Seven video of (Ys Seven spoiler) Scias being killed on the first encounter and battle with him? If so, I can record. It's rather funny. That's quite an achievement! I saw someone do it on nico nico, but I didn't have the patience to try it. Or did you discover another way?

That's quite an achievement! I saw someone do it on nico nico, but I didn't have the patience to try it. Or did you discover another way? Ooooh, so someone else aside me discovered it too. xD I figured. I actually found it out myself, and it's very easy to pull off: You have to enter the room while controlling either Geis or Adol. Make sure Dogi is 10 levels or so above whoever you enter the room with. Example: Enter with lv45 Adol, have lv55 Dogi in party. Having beaten Sand-Eater for Dogi's Extra Skill improvement helps. For Dogi's Accessory Slot, I recommend equipping the "Scroll of Valor" if you have it: It raises one's attack power the lower one's HP is. After that, just perfect-guard an attack with Dogi and blow the hell out of Scias up before Scias's HP reached half. Note: Scias' level is based on the character you enter the room with's level. Note 2: To overlevel Dogi, I equipped the Fortune Orb to him, so he would gain EXP while walking. Allow Dogi to be controlled by the AI rather than you, and leave him walking against a wall: He'll do that while stuck somewhere because of obstacles separating you from him. The best spot for doing that, AFAIK, is on Shannoa Village, to the Northwest of the village, where there're stairs near the lake, and the hut in which you can't enter is nearby. Climb the stairs back up in a way Dogi is left behind, then stay near the hut. He'll try to reach you, but forever fail. This way, you can leave your PSP on while plugged for days. He'll gain some levels in no time. I also used that tactic to beat the coliseum boss with Adol without taking damage to see if anything happened (nothing does - all that matters is whether you use Scias' healing potion or not, dialogue-wise, veeeeeery slightly). P.S.: Beating Geis without taking damage also changes nothing. All that matters is whether you defeat him or not, dialogue-wise.

Seems much easier your way This guy spent a lot of time, and I mean a lot of time, at the earth sanctum gathering materials to refine/strengthen weapons to do it.

I wonder if in the nico nico video you saw the player used this very same tactic or so. I don't think there's any other possible way. The only other way I know is to, instead of overleveling Dogi, you could stuff a lot of STR Compounds on him. That requires some farming, though. Madness side info: As a matter of fact, I'm working on a new game save I just made to get to that point in the game with Dogi at lv1 (the only character who can get to that fight at that level) and then observe all that one can do, as well as what are Scias' statuses on each level (Lv1 ~ 99). And make a save file with Dogi at that point on each level (99 save files), and then share them to any other mad soul interested. I'll do the leveling and make those save files only after I finish Ys Seven, though.

Oh ho, I figured. xD Yeah, he was likely gathering Spiritual Waters (found near the end of the first 3 sanctums, at least), one of the main and definitely rarest materials of the STR Compound recipe.

Oh, and more two tips: My Fortune Orb strategy works better if Geis is on your active party while Dogi is running for levels: His passive party skill is to raise EXP gain. So that speeds things up a little bit.
For the STR Compound tactic, having 3 Luck Medal accessories equipped on the 3 active characters will speed the process up, too, since those help everyone get Spiritual Water and the other 2 seed types for the recipe (the seeds are "mined" in Shannoa forest and ancient tree -- Komona seeds also are dropped by the "bees" in Altago Plains).

*random randomness feary whine of the day*
My debit card got rejected by Play-Asia when they tried to charge me on the Falcom Nendoroid Petit preorder, and now I can see they are all sold out. ._.'~ I hope they don't act like their usual selves and keep my pre-order saved for me, and accept me request to change payment methods to Western Union. T___T~
