I recognized and checked the other ones too, so all those recommendations aren't in vain. Just basically, what do I need? Hardware stuff! Games! I've got 40$ to spend right away, and a bit more birthday cash should be on the way. So, I'm spending most o' my 40$ on a memory stick so I can probably only get a cheap-o game-o. But that's a different story, since I'll get other stuff later. Keep in mind, I'm not so into RPGs a lot of the time, and I've already got the imports I want on a list.

If I didn't know that you had a 3000 series, I'd say an extended life battery is an absolute must. I got my PSP way back when 1000s were all there was, so when I learned of the higher capacity batteries (and I had a roadtrip upcoming!) I bought one right away. Added quite a bit of life to it. I think the battery works with 2000s, not sure about 3000s. I know that on the newer models it's bulky as all hell, though, since they're slimmer. Mine even came with fat battery slips so that you could close the thing on a 2000. Big recommendation is one of those static-adhesive screen cover things. They're only like $5 and they protect your screen from scratches absolutely. I always buy those for my handhelds and the like. Invaluable, they be. Gamewise, ignoring all I've said in other threads about RPGs and other stuff I probably mentioned, if you can track down a copy of Guilty Gear Judgment, I'd say that's worth it. I spent many, many hours with that game. Only trouble was that it was relatively hard to find. Leastways it was for me.

Is Component the 3 colours? It is sold out everywhere it seems, at least online.

The red/white/yellow cable is composite, the 5-input one is component.

Thanks for the help dudes! I'll keep that in body, mind and soul. Hmm... I'll look for it hard. Because I do play in the house a lot (only) and my brothers watch around.

Until RemoteJoyLite gets updated, the 3000 series really is superior. Maybe someday, I will have one of my own, lol! I think Composite is the Red, White and Yellow cables, and Component is the Red, Green and Blue cables.

I think the 3000 will still be superior even after a RJL update mainly because you can't use video output cables with the 1000 or 2000 (er, sans component), yar?
I always found it sort of a pain that I have to hook up an audio cable and the USB cable to the PSP just to record stuff. XD On top of that, I've never gotten the audio recording to work in RJL so I have to use a separate program to record the sound and then mash everything together in VirtualDub. :B!
But, with the 3000, I shall be able to cut out those steps of separate recording and mashing! Mwahahaha!

Wowza, that's awesome!
I might have to buy myself a 20$ PSN points card, just to get some Final Fantasy VII, possibly. Well, considering how much I'm liking the first, I might just like VII.

Alright, I'll remember that btw, what's the best conversion software to have video on my PSP? I want to convert AVIs to whatever file I need.

I bought a Composite cable, off of Amazon. I cannot wait. Make sure its for your model Smithee. The 2000 cables apparently don't work on the 3000 model. Don't ask me why, I just read the boxes Oh, and now you can enjoy that treasure trove of stuff I sent you! Also, seeing how you got FF1 for your birthday, you should beat that quick, and then snag FF2.

Naw, I'm sure the 2000 cables work with 3000, they were made before 3000 was released is all. That's why it isn't mentioned on the box! Yeah, I'm jamming out on the Capcom games a lot, and whenever I'm in need of a fighter other than Akatsuki I'll totally whip out Dark Stalkers. My plan is to go for the SNES FFII (IV) first, because it interests me a lot. What I'm trying to do really is copy the way Americans played the games, combined with my interests. So I'll go IV, and then either VI or Chrono Trigger, I'm not sure. I actually stopped listening to the Retronauts show on CT, because I was afraid I'd hear too much! After all of that? VII Hear that guys? All you haters!? ALL OF YOU NEYSAYERS?! The plan, it worked. The plan worked...

Also, don't skip FF V, its a good one too. This The story is mediocre, but the job system is fun. Also it has a decent soundtrack.

Don't forget that it has a protagonist with a name that sounds like butts and a hot reverse trap pirate.

Yeah, it's either Butz or Bartz. Those names are both highly annoying to me.
