Yes to the first question, yes to the second. The discs have no region protection, only the HuCards.

Awesome Seeing as I never plan to get any HUcards I'll probably just buy a Japanese PC Engine CD since it's like 200 bucks cheaper What else should I get? Ys III and IV obviously, and probably Legend of Xanadu II

Oh my god I just played that game for an hour and every single penny feels well spent already. What an incredible version of Ys I and II!

I bought a Japanese Duo R for most of my Turbo needs. All disks work, including backups without the use of a modchip. HUcards do not, and to remedy this I picked up a cheap Turbo 16 console for American cards.
One thing you need to think about is the grade of the console you get. If you find a Duo R, it has the Super chip inside, and you won't need to use a Super Card on Super CD games. You will need an Arcade card for Arcade games though, so make sure you read up on what games you are buying.
The Turbo machine is a great console, but it is a little complex in how it works. If you have a passing interest, then just use Magic Engine. Otherwise, make sure you post here before buying any and all Turbo products.
Also, prepare to get into SHMUPS. The TCD is KING of that genre.

I'll probably buy a Japanese Duo R and an Arcade Card, then. Maybe a regular TurboGrafx somewhere down the line but I don't really know of any HU games I'd want to play
And Wyrdwad, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the heads up!

The Soldier games are all on Hucards, along with other favorites like Devil/Alien crush and Military Madness.
Alternatively, most of these Hu games are available on Virtual Console, and are considerably cheaper. If you are planning on snagging a Turbo console, make sure to cross reference your game list with what is on WiiShop.

Well how much would just a TurboGrafx-16 cost, with no CD add on?

I finally got me Sakura Wars too! ....Or rather, I actually got it last weekend. :'D But I've been SO epically lazy in taking pics of anything, and even after that, bothering to upload them thaaaaaat.... (I think I've just enjoyed the last few purchases so much that.... one can't stop ogling long enough to actually take pics. X'D) But hoi~! What's wrong with that poster Justin? ? I liked it! I would probably even have put it up somewhere if the house wasn't already filled with too many paintings. :'D (And one certainly isn't taking that Adol down, no ho~! X'D) Infact, if I probably saw that poster in some random person's place, guy or girl, I'd probably have a fangirly attack and babble their head off in excitement. :'''''D *shot* More than Sakura Wars V though, the actual thing that has gotten me terribly excited is that Disgaea 2 artbook! Rosenqueen's version of the Mana Khemia 2 freebie artbook was 'meh meh~' at best. And I was expecting something of that quality. Especially since this was.... kind of cheap. (19$ ho!) But in actuality..... meh god! <3! This book is beautiful~! It's even nicer that this is the first game artbook I own which is actually in english. So I can enjoy what's written in it too! Rather than simply ogling at the pics. (....In a way, that was sort of a double edged sword. Since, considering I'm still on the first Disgaea, I, upon noticing a pic of the Mid Boss, excitedly opened it to that aaaaaaaaand...................... *spoiled*! X'D ....I kind of didn't mind this spoiler too much though.) And now I feel like getting the 'World of Disgaea' artbook for the first game. :'D Unfortunately, I've only seen it on amazon, which hates me, and that too for 70$+. :/ Huge price leap? T___T

The road to EVO 2010 begins now. The road to remembering that B/Cancel is bottom row, 2nd to the left instead of top row, left is an even longer one I like the idea of figmas, but I don't like any of the characters available 'cept for Saber Lily. Problem is she was a special edition with the horrible fighting game Fate / Unlimited Codes. Thankfully I managed to snag her without the game for a fair price. I'm not big into fembots, but Transformers Animated figure Arcee was supposed to be canceled. She got saved and was released as a Toys R Us exclusive. The local TRU had a bunch in last weekend, so I picked her up. Turns out she's really posable. Now hopefully Rodimus Minor will get saved and released in the US in some way... More images of Arcee and some LEGO sets I bought in March and never photographed

Huh, I never knew there was an Architecture line of Legos. That's kinda neat, actually. And the Lily fig is nice.

Ah mi! That Saber Lily!!!! I wanted her so so badly. :'D ......But she was so damned expensive with that game. (I almost gave in though :''''D) I'm assuming she was probably way cheaper than the original figma + game?

Huh, I never knew there was an Architecture line of Legos. That's kinda neat, actually. It was a small line, Fallingwater being the biggest set. I'm from PA but yet I never got to see Fallingwater myself I'm assuming she was probably way cheaper than the original figma + game? She was $80, twice the price of a normal figma.. but that was still better than what anyone was selling the figma + game for. I couldn't find anything else priced under $120 shipping included. I was just happy to get her for under $100

This is actually two orders a few weeks apart, but I never got around to posting the first one, so I decided I might as well just pose both orders together: From left to right, that's: Opoona - Bought by Wyrdwad's recommendation -- his GameFAQs review of it pretty much sold me. I'll probably start on it once I'm through with Ys I & II. The Princess and the Frog - I'm actually kind of disappointed that I never caught this during its theatrical run. Maybe I'll watch it this weekend -- I hope it's really as good as I'm expecting. How To Train Your Dragon (Soundtrack) - I mentioned in another thread that I was thinking of buying the soundtrack... so I did! And, yes, I still buy music on CD when feasible -- I like getting a slick, professional, decent-looking physical copy of something when I buy it, a real-world representation of what it is that I paid money for, even if I just rip it and don't use the physical CD to listen to it again. The Book of Heroes - I don't read as much as I'm used to. This is my way of rectifying that. I'm not very far into it yet, but it's just nice to get back into doing that again. (Not pictured: A new electric toothbrush, because my old one stopped working. That's too boring for this thread. )

Then a few months after I got one they announced the XL.
Ffffff.
