...on Easy. xD Anyway, for those of you who might remember me...I kinda left over a year ago, and I just now remembered this place. Some of you might know a person by the name of Bug. She knows me. Anyway, I started an Adol solo run on Easy, and I'm starting to wonder what the final boss is gonna be like...I mean, Adol is only in the final part. This....might not go down well. Any tips?

You'll probably have to raise up everyone so you can do the final boss. If I had to make a recommendation, pick someone from each section of the final fight and level up those 3. That way you can do the final battle and finish the game.
If you really want to solo, then just kill everyone else off before each boss fight and use Adol only. That way you'll have soloed the main plot points (and the only challenging parts, really) but will still be able to finish.
I remember trying to do the Scias fight with Adol alone and fought it to be utterly ridiculous. But then again, I was on nightmare, so maybe on easy it'll be doable.

Alright, thanks for the help! Leveling up the characters later on shouldn't be much of a problem, since they scale to your level...but how does that scaling work? Is it to your lowest leveled character, or is it to your highest?
Oh boy...yeah...that battle had me on my toes with 3 characters on Normal! Easy shouldn't be too impossible, though.

Oh man, soloing that fight with Adol was ridiculously fun on Nightmare. Had to use a couple of items, but it was still fun. Granted, I fight that boss like, all the time, so.

My problem with soloing it was I couldn't build up SP without taking damage back so I was drained by the time I did any considerable damage to him. In hindsight, I could've put on the SP orb and used items, but I don't like doing that unless I'm fighting that bird in the wind palace.
I hate that bird.

Flash Guard, yo. That was the source of almost all of my SP in that fight. Flash Guard his 3-hit combo and you're good.
And goddamn bird.

Damn, why didn't I think of that. I'm decent at it too, so it shouldn't have been a problem.
Well then, next playthrough I'll do that, and hopefully on the PS3.

Haha...maybe I should try Nightmare, then. I'm also trying a low level run on Easy...but I'm finding it much harder than an Adol solo on the same difficulty.
Flash guard is your best friend, though, that's for sure.
Dammit, why don't I have a PS3!? Eh...so much for console Ys Seven. I can't wait till Oath in Felghana comes out for the PSP 2 weeks from now. I'm gonna be playing that and Ys Seven for quite a while.
...Sorry, that last bit was kinda off-topic.

Don't worry, it's not announced yet, the PS3 is just the expected console that I've heard floating around the forum. I can't wait till Oath in Felghana comes out for the PSP 2 weeks from now. I read that as "...comes out for the PSP 2, weeks from now" and sat here stupidfied, since the PSP 2 isn't announced much less out yet. No worries, it sunk in eventually... very eventually. :P

Este, I actually read the same thing. Lack of sleep has all kind of weird effects on basic comprehension!
On normal mode, only Dogi and Geis were combat ready by the final boss. Thank God they weren't placed together, or I'd have been squashed. With just those two I managed to take down the first two while using most of my healing inventory, and with Adol equipped the best he possibly could be, I only had to heal once for the last bastard. At first I thought for certain I wasn't gonna make it, but it is indeed possible, especially for people with better game reflexes (mine kinda suck).

@este and rai Well, I think the lack of a comma was my fault, so don't worry too much about it. After reading my post again, I realized that it does sound a bit odd...
@este Yeah, that's basically what I've heard, too. Makes sense, though, since it wouldn't require much of a change if they used a Playstation console.
@rai Well, at least you had some characters combat-ready! I'm not expecting much on Easy, but congrats on the Normal run! =D
I haven't done much in the way of my Adol solo, but I am trying to get the legendary weapons on my original file, and I only have one left. I'm also 100k away from the 1,000,000 gold mark.

An Adol solo run... does this entail buying equipment/etc. *ONLY* for Adol, and completely ignoring everyone else?! I just might have to give that a shot... it might be a little difficult early on, though.

The difficult part is definitely the boss fights since they're scaled to require 3 party members. I'd give a candy bar to whoever could solo the game on nightmare.

Although, you'll have to have one character for each of the first 2 tiers of the final boss leveled up and battle-ready, since only the last tier has Adol in it. LunarOh God...good luck!! I give you...TWO candy bars! LOL Oh, and a Pikkard.

Oooh, I I wanna pikkard! I imagine they taste delicious! I didn't really do a solo run so much as just apathetically neglect my party, though, so I guess I didn't earn one. But it's Ys, after all, you're SUPPOSED to play as Adol! While I didn't kill off Geis and Dogi intentionally, I don't think I switched characters once after accessing Adol's different weapon types.

Yeah, unfortunately that wouldn't be a solo run. Still though, Adol rocks. On a side note...ONLY 9 1/2 DAYS UNTIL OATH IN FELGHANA COMES OUT!!! Edit: Oh yeah, y'all get Pikkards just for being here! There's plenty to go around, so don't be shy!
