"Capcom announced Lost Planet for PlayStation 3, a complete version which includes all content released on Xbox Live, additional characters from the PC version and online multiplayer support with up to 16 players. The PS3 version will be released in Q1 2008."
Isn't this game supposed to be one of Microsoft bigger titles that they were touting as exclusive to the 360?

Microsuck? of the two that seem to be taking the most hits these days (actually, Nintendo's getting a lot of slack too. Its great to hate on things, isn't it?), I have to say that Microsoft's been playing mostly the right cards this generation, unlike its giant rival. They've really turned themselves around and shown Sony that they're quite a force. This is one of the few times an exclusive has gone from 360 to PS3 instead of the other direction. I really don't think this title will make much of a difference for the PS3... most of the people that wanted it already have on the 360 and it was only big at the time because it came out during a dry time for game releases. I'm guessing they're doing it to give the Japanese market another chance (but it doesn't really matter, i think, because it was made with the western market in mind). Still, it's good to see Capcom is a multiconsole-friendly developer, even with their bigger titles like this one. Hopefully more will do the same, like Dead Rising, Okami, and SF4.

I agree that Microsoft has really turned things around this generation. I've had my XBOX360 for about a year now and I have to say its currently better than the PS3 in terms of larger software selection, better optimized multiplatform titles, and XBOXLIVE games. I know the PS3 is going to get better next year and I do plan on buying one next year but the 360 is the my favorite current gen console right now. If and when devs really know how to harness the PS3's power is when Sony will make a comeback. As far as Lost Planet coming to the PS3, sure thats cool news but you have to admit its coming out a bit late where people who have already played the game arent going to get the PS3 version unless they absolutly loved the game to death.

I dig my PS3, but, it by no means, is a killer system.......atleast not yet. However, I've always hated Microsoft....well, mainly Bill Gates, I think he's a piece of crap, but, whatever. With consoles, I always support the Japanese systems. The 360 itself has nothing for me, though I did pick up Perfect Dark Zero, since it's was new under 10 bucks. I know I'll get a 360 someday, but, there really just isn't anything for me to that jumps out at me. The Halo's are overated IMO, so, I hate them for the most part, because I get tired hearing about them, & how good they are a godsend. They're decent, nothing more.
The Wii has some good games, but, I don't want to spend the money on it either. But, I'm a penny pincher(yes, I know, I have the most expensive system of the 3, but, I got a really good deal on it, that I'm tired of explaining). Someday I'll get the Wii, no doubt, but it's hard to say where it's going to end up in a couple years. Truly, this is a generation of systems, where, I just don't know exactly what's going to happen to the various systems. I've been able to call it before, since the 8-bit days, but, this generation is just plain wierd.

Lost Planet was by no means a 360 exlusive. It came out for PC almost right away. Probably because of poor sales. This game is crap, isn't it? It was a bit of a flop too, I believe.
And it's not Microsuck, it's Micro-penis-soft. You should know that, considering you're a Pcenginefx member.

FM-77 - Lost Planet sold over a million worldwide, although Japan didn't contribute to that number with any significance. Also, the game got reviews all over the place, from 6.5 to 9.5. Personally, based on what I hear about the game, it was an average game. But if you had a 360 at the time, Dead Rising and Lost Planet were two of the best games out. Also, the PC version, like with most Japanese games that go from console to PC, was crap in comparison and was ignored. MP83 - wow, that was quick I've been wanting to play okami for the PS2, but I was holding out (it's not like I don't have enough games already). I did try it, actually, but it didn't seem good/interesting enough to warrant an immediate purchase. Anyways, lets see how the Wii version turns out... everyone's saying the controller will benefit it, but you never know if they'll mess it up the opportunity or not.. so... SF4, Bionic Commando sequel, Lost Planet for 360, and now Okami for Wii. Capcom is going all-out...

Unnecessary sequel to a milked out series. Unecessary sequel to a game nobody cares about. Port/milk. Port/milk. Sounds like the standard C(r)apcom philosophy (milk milk milk milk). I wonder why people are even talking about this.

I was just saying that they're big titles. Maybe not for you, or me, but generally they are big news. And SF hasn't seen anything new done with the series for years, so I'm interested to see what they do with this one. The leap between each number in the series (SF, SF2, SF3) has been huge every time. And some people do care for Bionic Commando, just not us. The only reason I even know what Bionic Commando is is because I've seen so many people who get excited just from hearing it's name.
I'd rather like to see Capcom put more effort into established franchises. For the past few years now they've actually been neglecting older names and pushing them to the side (even if some of them see sequels, it's just for the fans, not to further the series). The last time Capcom did something big for an old name was RE4. After that, it was all new stuff like Okami, Lost Planet, and Dead Rising. Also, releasing a game on multiple consoles is a good thing.

What's this about no one caring about Bionic Commando?
Because I bloody well care about some Bionic Commando.

Capcom confirmed that the PS3 version of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition will have 3 new playable characters from the PC version, including Joe (NEVEC soldier), Rockman (Mega Man) and Frank West (photojournalist from Dead Rising).
Thats pretty cool add on. Didnt realize the PC version had megaman and Frank West as playable characters.

Yeah, the Mega Man thing interests me. And Okami on Wii might be cool. As for Bionic Commando, I've always loved the concept of the NES & Arcade games, but, was never very good at the games, still like them though.

I finally tried out a bit of the arcade version of Bionic Commando recently as a result of the new one's announcement. I couldn't get into it. Maybe it's more of a nostalgia thing for most people. It just feels like its gameplay has been outdone in every way now, or maybe I'm just missing something. Even at the time the game came out, there were a lot of games using the grappling idea. One could argue that games like Zelda and Metroid have done the grappling thing in 3D to death by now, but the only thing about BC is that its entire gameplay revolves around it. I saw the new trailer and I think it isn't looking promising so far... I think fans would be happier with a 2D update, in the vein of Contra 4. It'd allow for them to move the gameplay further while using what the original established as a base. Also, if this is what Capcom meant by wanting to make more western games, I think they should have just had this new western developer make another completely new IP.

Why does everybody say IP everywhere nowadays? I've never seen it used until recently. Is it some new fancy thing everybody's gotta say? I don't even know what it stands for (but I think it means a franchise).

And although I've developed a habit of using it as well, I really hate using the word "franchise" with games, it sounds more like something related to McDonald's.

Okami Wii Edition should be a excellent port cause its being made by Read At Dawn who did the PSP daxter and the upcoming God of War PSP game.

No Nazis in what, Bionic Commando? People have been waiting for their first look at the 3D "hitler" but no sign of him yet. In fact, I couldn't tell what the enemies looked like in the trailer. Too much pointless swinging, not enough climbing or shooting. But it just got announces so maybe it'll get better. Also, the updated Bionic Commando theme sounds pretty cool, in kind of a Metal Gear Solid style. heres the trailer, btw www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dw5RUdKOOM

Damn right, Deuce.
It looks like they're trying to merge the visual styles of NES Bionic Commando and Gameboy Bionic Commando. Personally, I recall hope they let you get your hands on Ladd Spencer's shades. =]
As for the BADDs/Nazis/Whatever the GB guys were called, it's too early to tell. But I'd be thrilled to get another chance to make Hitler's head explode. Then again, I'll be happy to take on the Albatross in 3D.

Well, then here's a new video for you guysThe gameplay is looking better with this one. Still, if you ask me, it just doesn't seem enough like a Bionic Commando. But I haven't played the Gameboy one (didn't even know there was one), nor am I really that much a fan of the original, so my opinion is moot. Mooter than usual.
