One of these days I'll probably have to get around to beating Dawn of Ys. The excitement of new console and Umineko have completely eclipsed it!

Alright; we shall return Currently Playing to its former glory, lol! Wyrd, Muta, and all parties interested, we'll resume our conversation (and first 'board meeting'; didn't occur to me how literal that would be until now) under the Prismal Software Board post here at ALoY, under Chaotic Chat.

Well, I've been playing Soulcalibur IV a lot recently after discovering that Maxi kicks massive amounts of ass.
I switched voices back to English. For all of 3 minutes. Holy hell, that acting is awful.

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia Hard mode lv1 playthrough Most fun I've had with a castlevania in a long while. Almost every room is a new surprise and challenge. Enjoy your instant death bats. :) Bats are easy. It was the winged guardians that caught me off guard for a while (That and 'stay off the grass!') Now at Dracula's Castle. Woo wooo.

It's amazing how this idea is flowing. We'll need music samples between you and Mutagene. www.youtube.com/user/AusdoerrtI don't write as much as I play. I could write a part for a song but would likely find writing a whole new song too bothersome.

I have to ask myself this: Is it worth the time and frustration to finish the Sacred Ground bonus dungeon in the PC version of Cave Story now that the WiiWare version has an official release date? (March 22)
I've made it up to the second form of the final boss of the Sacred Ground twice and can usually get to him 2 outta 3 tries these days. Still the amount that luck plays in the section with the falling blocks is frustrating.
..me thinks I may need a better strategy on the second form than stand on his cheek and blindly unload all my lv.3 Super Missles into his eye...

You're right, Wyrd; BUT, the game is actually completed and has been submitted a couple of months ago. I guess Nintendo finally accepted it, so this is more of an official release date.

Hasn't the Wiiware version of the game had a release date like, a gajillion times before now, too, and failed to meet each one of them? -Tom Never has a release date been so concrete. All the ones I saw in the past were quarter estimations like Q4 2009. Never a month and certainly never an exact day.

well I figure this time it's coming out for reals if I finish the Sacred Grounds tonight. You know, me finally DLing and playing the PC version to completion pretty well insures that NOW the Wii version comes out

I was playing Estpolis on the DS
Then I realized I hate the combat and the world was slapdash-thrown together
Now I"m not anymore. I pulled out regular Lufia 2 and it's much better

I'm playing Ace Attorney Investigations. Premature statement, sure, but this will most likely be my favorite game of the year, it's that good.

Between watching K-tai 7, Game Center [CX]/CX, and Xenogears, I've been playing a bit of Akatsuki Blitzkampf, which is probably my favourite doujin fighter.
I beat arcade mode with Electro Soldat yesterday before I went to bed.

I can only play really basic dudes in fighters, so I play E-Soldat and Akatsuki, although since I just got back into the game we'll see where it goes.
My little brother really likes Sai, and we get into massive mindgames against each other when I'm using E-Soldat. I really need to pick up the pace on getting good with the parry attack, because my little bro is nearly spot on. The reason it works so well in SFIII is because of all of the animation for the characters... here? I'm on my own! But that really makes it work well.
Yo, Lunar, you actually play Blitztank? If you do that's pretty funny for some reason.
Kanae and Fritz both seem cool, although I've never got much of a look at how Kanae fights, I should check into that. Fritz isn't my gameplay style, since he's really timing/counter based it appears... I'm pretty aggressive in my play style.

Fritz isn't my gameplay style, since he's really timing/counter based it appears... I'm pretty aggressive in my play style. Soldat and Akatsuki are great characters for beginners. Akatsuki is your classic shoto with simple combos. Soldat is a Guile clone but pay attention to his jumping back + B. If you're talking mind games, that's your move of choice since it is an attack and sends you backwards. You can also link it off of any other jumping attack to add extra damage or put some distance between you and a blocked jump attack. Kanae is the easiest grappler I've ever played in a fighting game. Not to mention she has a command counter (EX version being amazing) and a good palm loop in corners. I have a great Youtube tutorial on her bookmarked at home that I can link later. Fritz is a punishment character. He has no specials (except for a command dash), no supers (except for a super command dash) and his biggest viable combos are about 3 hits. Otherwise he can take off 1/4 of a life bar with a counter hit and his lv.3 super has insane damage. I played Sai when I first started but it was mainly for the laughs of his evil eye special and lv.3 super. Winning with a fish drop was always worth it. Otherwise he didn't suit my playstyle very well so I moved on.

I beat Bayonetta on Non-Stop Climax and am now playing with Jeanne on Normal.
It's kinda creepy that she sounds exactly like Bayo and is referred to as Bayo in cutscenes... and fights alongside/against another Jeanne. :v

Thanks for the tips, they'll come in handy.
Yeah, I beat it as Fritz and Marylin Sue just now and Fritz definitely ranks up there.
His lack of supers/special moves was confusing for a bit (how do I do the attack?) but I figured there is none, and suppose I'm right. His lvl 3 attack is insane, especially since using a super to get a dash is useless for the most part, so you can easily kill everybody with that. I really like taking my time against the opponents with him, and yes, punishing them (as punishment characters should, lol).
This game gets better and better.

Yeah, it's a bit of a cheap way to add replay value, but she DOES play a bit differently, and many people prefer her as a character--including Kamiya-san himself. And me.
