This may be a travesty to most of you but I could not resist replacing the music track for "the abandoned mines" in this game with the..... I forget the name of the level, but.... in The Ark of Napishtim where you go kind of underground, the entrance of which is right next to where you use the yellow sword to unlock and open the (yellow) door.... music.
One of my fave game music tracks of all time!
I ripped it from the PS2 version of AoN, converted it to .ogg format, and placed it in OiF.
Awesome!
Don't get me wrong - I LOVE the music in OiF, but I just thought that this track from AoN was better than the music from this stage in OiF.
Has anyone else changed any on the music in OiF?

Good idea! I love YsF more than any Ys, but I made some changes also. Cynthia's Shop: I put the Lagoon Item shop music in. Redmont: Replaced with a song I got from the website muzie that sounds very similar to Redmont. The Boy's got wings, or The Boy who had Wings: Replaced with "Take on Me" by A-ha. Tigray Quarry: Replaced with "You are the one" by A-ha. Illburns Ruins: Replaced with "Celice" by A-ha. Too bad I deleted my video of this. A-ha's sound always reminded me of Falcom, and I recently have been buying their albums, and love them! I just did it for fun, so please don't think I'm an Ys hater.

That is one reason I love my Xbox 360, being able to change music. You can't change individual songs like replacing a music file, but still cool. I don't have the AoN soundtrack (yet), but I listen to the ogg files from the game quite often

It's just that the Abandoned Mines music is only about a minute long, looped (of course), and sounds a lot more like boss music.
The Ruins of Amnesia music is MUCH more game-play-ey.
The track is perfect for an under ground-type level - the effects used for the beat are fantastic.

Some of you are breaking my heart. Though I can't really say that Ys III has traditionally had my favorite Ys soundtracks, YsF DOES, the remakes are that awesome.

The only song I honestly preferred the TG-CD version over the YsF remake was Valestine Castle.

I've replaced all the avalable tracks with their (looped, of course) equivalents from the Turbo-CD version, mostly as a lark. You should make it available like you did for Ys I and II Complete. Then again there are really only a few tracks that I think the TG-16 did better. Valestien Castle, Be Careful, and Tower of Fate, and The Strongest Foe were friggen amazing.

On a somewhat unrelated note...
I replaced the wilderness/battle music in Oblivion with various tracks from the Ys anime. It made the game about 20% less crappy. (Bringing the total crap-factor down to about 60%... no offense intended to any local ES fans)

I'm still pretty fond of the SNES version of the music. Maybe because it was the first version of Ys III I played. After that I went after the Turbo one because I knew the music would be sick. I wish the Oath in Felghana version of Illburns ruins had that little "galloping" part at the beginning, as found in the SNES one.
