Asteka is an amazing Shadowgate-style adventure game for PC-8801 and MSX. Asteka II was also ported to NES (and even released in the US!) known as " Tombs and treasure". This game was also on PC-8801 and MSX, but it was also featured on the Sega Saturn game known as Falcom classics II, released in 1998. Interesting fact: The title screen music from " Tombs and treasure" is actually Reah's harmonica theme! (but of course, Asteka II is OLDER than Ys, so I guess it's not really like that anyway) The game " Tombs and treasure" is avaliable in the downloads section, but playing it on a NES with the map is so much nicer. You can probably buy it from Ebay quite cheap. Edit: I am not 100% sure Asteka is the same game (but probably same series). Here's a screenshot of the original Asteka:

Aha! I now have it confirmed. "Taiyou no Shinden - Asteka 2" is the japanese title of Tombs and treasure.
Which means that Tombs and treasure is, in fact, Asteka II.
I have this game for NES, it's great when you play it with the map. It gives you clues about all the areas. Now I'm off to buy Asteka I wherever I might find that.

Indeed they did. And that is because it is in a spanish-speaking area. Namely the inka-place, I don't remember what it was called. Lima and all that can be found there. In south America.
