So, any word on Xanadu Next?

Has anyone played the release version? I'm a big fan of the old Xanadu games, especially Revival Xanadu for the PC-98, so I might get this if it's any good.

It has not yet been released, so I doubt anyone's played it. I have played the beta though, you can read my preview of it in this forum. It seems very promising. Like a lite version of YsVI. It's not very similiar to Xanadu other than the skills system and the music (the main theme is the same one as in Xanadu - only it sounds a lot better).

The battle system is nothing like the one in the original Xanadu. This is real-time battles and you fight the actual enemy you see (one monster does not turn into eight and you will not be transported to a battle screen like in the original game).

If you don't have an N-Gage I sincerely recommend you to get one, for this game will be amazing. I assure you.

Oh, I thought it was released already. Some websites said it shipped yesterday, but the official NGage release list says 3-15.

Hm.. I actually thought this game was more related to Kaze no Densetsu Xanadu.

Also, I think Falcom's making a PC version in addition to the N-gage version.

Really? That would be fairly interesting. But it seems Falcom didn't make the N-Gage version after all, since the credits say "ScriptArts". I don't know what that is. Maybe a division of Falcom or something?

I haven't played The Legend of Xanadu that much, but Xanadu Next really has many influences from Xanadu. The Dragon Slayer sword, Dragon-King, Xanadu music, and the Xanadu skill system, etc.

Xanadu Next has been delayed to June 2005. Probably because of the leak.

I was expecting this game to be released in March. Now I'm really dissapointed.
