Hi - new member here, so I apologize if something like this has been asked before. I was curious how various gamers first came in touch with the goodness that is nihon falcom?
For me, growing up I never owned a NES myself untill much later, but I had a PC and was a big fan of the games of Sierra. Sierra had ported over a few gamearts games (thexder, silpheed, zeliard) and I played and enjoyed them all.. then I saw another game that they ported over called Sorcerian and was completely blown away. I still have the original box and manual, though sadly the 3.5 disks are useless.
Many years later I picked up a turbo duo and ys1&2 , and later Ys3. It wasn't until I played Ys3 that I made the connection and realized that it was developed by the same company.. ever since then though, I kept an eye out for the name Nihon Falcom and usually picked up a game based on that alone (Popful Mail for the segacd, faxanadu and Legacy of the Wizard for NES)

There's a similiar thread about this here. But it's not exactly the same.
