What's up y'all!?
Here's my story.
The year was 1992 (I think >_<) and I was seven years old. My dad brought home a turbo graphix CD console with the game Ys books I and II and some other cool games he bought somewhere. I was young, had never heard a rock song before, never seen anime before, although I had played nintendo some. My dad collects guitars and amplifiers, so he happened to have four giant speakers hooked up to our television when I fired up Ys. My mouth literally dropped open when I started a new game and saw the intro movie , heard the AWESOME music, and saw the incredibly unique and beautiful 256 color (I assume) art all at the same time. I was BLOWN AWAY to say the least. Talk about information overload! I guess you could say I got hooked on rock music, anime, and Ys all at the exact same moment in time! Somehow I ended up with Ys 3 a year or two later, which I was somewhat disappointed with, but it was definitely still a good game.
So that's how I found Ys (or Ys found me), nice to meet y'all. I've played Ys 6 for the PC, but I can only read hiragana and katakana and my Japanese vocabulary is minimal(I took two college courses) so I haven't done much with that game at all.
Currently I'm a student at Texas A&M University, majoring in Electronics Engineering Technology. I'm originally from Dallas.
Yoroshiku!
p.s. I bet you guys know the scoop on Ys Online. What's the deal with that game? I read somewhere that it might get released in December, but I haven't heard anything else. Is it going to be only for Korea and Japan? Is the lack of information on the game due to the possibility of development being dropped, and the game being abandoned? Thanks for any info!
