I would be curious to know what your favorite game music OST is, for me, right now it looks like Ys the Oath in Felghana will be my all time favorite. Before that it was definitely Ys II PC Engine version. Still though, I'm a diehard Final Fantasy VI fan and I can listen to that without getting tired of it. What they have been doing on the Wild Arms and Tales series is mindblowing. I can't wait I have the Tales of Legendia OST on the way tomorrow!!!! Very happy indeed! |

Alright, I'll seriously take a look at your link, but so far nothing has quenched my thirst for music like video games. I am amazed there is rarely a piece of game music I don't like. The exception is Salamander Remixes, I got seriously ripped off on that one. I don't know how they got off packaging a dance album as a Salamander cd. I couldn't even sell the thing on ebay.
Holy cow! Death metal! I have a friend who is into this kind of stuff. I wonder if he has heard of Degrade? This stuff is too brutal for me. I have heard plenty in my time from my friend, but this is just too strong for my taste. Thanks for the link.

Sorry to butt in, but aside from Ys:OiF (newly discovered, GREAT soundtrack), my favorites have to be Star Ocean: Till the End of Time and (just arriving today, so pick it up) Shadow of the Colossus.

Oh yeah, Star Ocean: Till the End of Time totally rocks! I've had that one for a while and love the game. Motoi Sakuraba is a composer I am constantly listening to, especially when he gets really hardcore, with sounds and guitar riffs blowing up all over the place, I absolutely love it. |

Sakuraba is an excellent composer, I just didn't agree with a jazz piece for part one of the final boss in EOT.

I've noticed a jazz trend lately in the RPG realm. Particularly with Noriyuki Iwadare's Radiata Stories music and his Grandia III score. The Wild Arms OSTs have some jazz too now. Strange. I agree though for me it does not make for good final battle music.

I'm not a huge fan of jazz myself... I prefer prog rock and related genres, as well as orchestral or celtic-themes pieces.
Consequently, I think my current favorite soundtrack still remains Baten Kaitos. ^_^; I say 'current' simply because I have so many I love that it varies too often to count off... @_@;;;;
I like metal, but death metal scares me!! ;_; If it's worth anything- Kamelot is my ranking favorite metal group. ^.^ Roy Khan's voice is gorgeous..... Aaaah~~

Did you see the Kamelot video someone made using footage from the Bastard Anime? It was very well done. My friend who is a death metal freak loves Kamelot.
