Great work Misada! Looks like the person who made the gamefaq gave you credit for the translations. I wonder where that last armor and shield could be?

Could either of you guys help me get past a certain point in this game?? after you put all the element swords in its proper holder by the huge statue, a huge light from all the swords appears but I dont know where to go next. I was hoping you would know since you finished the game. Thanks.

Did anybody by any chance find the missing armor and shield of this game? Its a possiblity that you might have to play on a replay to find them but I'm not sure. Found everything but the missing armor and shield.

Hello everyone this is my first post. Playing through this game and liking it a lot. Kinda sad everyone hates it so much. So anyways, just thought I would share some stuff for anyone that winds up playing this game someday. Please excuse me if this was already disclosed somewhere else. ロダのお守り = Roda Charm = Cuts casting time for spells 2/3 エクスペルオーブ = Expel Orb = Experience gain is multiplied by 1.5. The missing armor is 英雄の鎧 = Hero's Armor. You can find it hidden on the second screen of the Silver Quarter / Silver Palace behing a fallen pilar. The missing shield is 英雄の盾 = Hero's Shield. You can find it hidden in the third screen of the Silver Quarter / SIlver Palace close to the entrance of the Golden Temple. Oh, and just thought I would add how all the magic swords are named after a several virtues in spanish. Fascinación is self explanatory in english but ValentÃa means Valor/Braveness. Confianza means Trust. Ingenio can mean Creativy or Inventiveness. Eterno is... Eternal. Justicia is spanish for Justice. Again sorry if this was mentioned in one of the many threads, just thought it was a nice touch.

Oh, I didn't notice the Spanish bit! Nice! Also, I'm one of the few that actually grew to like this game. I can't believe I LITERALLY checked all the walls and invisible walls in this game to make sure I'd find everything back when I played it... Speaking of the items, I presume I found everything. The reason I say "I presume" is that there IS an empty item slot in my inventory, but it was once occupied by an item needed to make that one medicine that heals your HP 2 or 3 times or something. (The Celceta Secret Medicine, was it?) I do wonder, though, if that slot is supposed to be taken over by some new item at some point...? Do you know anything about it?

It's not meant to be taken over by anything else. What I don't know is if the item can be rebought or if it is a one time thing. I'm scared to use precious healing items in videogames, which is why I always end up with a bunch of Elixirs and Megaelixirs at the end of every Final Fantasy -_-.

I really think the item cannot be bought back or reobtained. (It was originally found in the ice dungeon, in a "secret" room. You pick it up there. You can still see the plant/flower there, but it cannot be picked up again.)
You also can only make the medicine before you get the black sword. Meaning even if one could get the plant again, the medicine could not be made/remade. I tried.
I relate to saving items and never using them, too. XD

So, after finally getting some free time and going back to finish this game, I found some more interesting stuff. Remnos cannot be saved. Yes, I know it was a baseless rumour but it made sense to me that if I got the Celcetta Seeds before fighting him, I could save the kid. Frea gives you the Secret Medicine for free if you get the seeds before talking to the elder and going after Carna, so you save 40000 gold, but its really not worth ALL that backtracking.
Another thing I found out is the use for the various Fragments you get when you unlock the magic in the swords. After getting Justicia, you can go back to the various Temples where you found the holy swords. By using magic with Justicia (charging up the sword and using the strong attack button to smash the crystal into the ground) , you will fill the missing crest in the altar and each of the Knights will tell you a story about what happened in Celcetta. This would be all kinds of awesome but its not voiced, most kanji are beyond my level, so I didn't understand much.
Anyways, once you speak to the five knights, go back to the Temple of the Sun to hear Lefance's story. You get some EXP too, 1000 per Knight and 5000 when you hear Lefance's tale. Be aware that when you listen to the stories of the Knights and Lefance, the Fragments will be used up so if you don't care about this and rather see your full inventory, ignore this (sorta tedious) sidequest. Oh, another thing, for some reason, after hearing Lefance's story, the Sun Crest is the one used up instead of the corresponding Fragment.

Oh! I didn't know that about the shards! Guess I didn't do 100% of everything in the game, afterall. I will fix this soon. (And probably record what Lefance and his followers say.) About them not remaining in the inventory, I wouldn't mind that personally, because it's impossible to have the inventory 100% full anyway (due to using up the Celceta Flower, which has no use, to make the Celceta Secret Medicine, which can be used to help), and the lack of the shards in the inventory is a sign of a completed game. *insane* XDDDDD By the way, is there any way to obtain the Celceta Secret Medicine without giving the Celceta Flower to Flair/Frea BEFORE going after Karna in the caves? As far as I recall, there was no other way. Anyway, nice find. Thanks.

I heard a rumour that if you talk to Frea during the conferance of the elders, and you hadn't gotten him the seeds before, he can also give you the medicine. Most likely another baseless rumour and don't have any save file near that point so cannot verify.
It would be great if you could record what the knights and Lefance say, as I'm really interested in the back story. I did understand part of it, and with what I got from the stories of the knights and the game itself, Eldeel is a benevolent, pacient, caring and all around nice guy that looked after Celcetta until the end, waiting for the twin Goddesses to return. Wildly different from what I hear from the Eldeel in MotS SNES and DoY. I also like how the Darkness Clan gets a lot of backstory and you get to learn their motivations. I'll have to play the other versions, but from what I hear, they were somewhat cliched bad guys.
This is my first time playing any version of Ys IV so I'm unbiased when judging this game. Sure backtracking annoyed the hell out of me, dungeons were not well designed for the most part and I wish there were a couple more combos and we had some attack magic instead of just smashing/throwing a cube but man this game was fun. Great story and characters too, apparently very different from the other versions.
