Yeah, I'll eventually get to beating this game, I'm not as far as you though.

I have been a little hard on this game, but it does get much better as you get towards the end. It really started to feel like an Ys game then. I am still looking forward to the Ys V remake too. This game has some great final battles as well.

I understand your feelings Deuce, having spent a heck of a lot of money on it myself, I knew it could have been way better than it was. In my opinion every dungeon should have been like the last two, with actual boundaries and cool puzzles, but they weren't. Every time I look at Oath in Felghana, I am in awe. I don't know why Taito couldn't bring about something with more quality. I wonder how the Ys V will turn out. Being the fan that I am, I will buy it and finish it. I just hope they stick more to the true formula. Then again, I think just after it comes out Falcom will release a remake for the PC and blow it away just like they did after Taito's Ys III.

The last boards DO feel like a Ys game, but only the last boards.

as bad as you guys say this game is, I still want a US release of it. More Ys is good. What are the chances of Taito bringing about 3, 4, and the soon to be made 5? Is there any contact info for Taito so I can bug them about it?

I don't know how to contact Taito, but I will say if it comes to the U.S. I will definitely buy it and support it. I might even sell my Japanese original then if that happened. The reason I got into import gaming is because I lost confidence in companies bringing my favorite titles over. Thanks to Falcom, good dealers and the internet for at least making the original Japanese releases available to us. I remember going to conventions and seeing nothing but bootleg copies of things. Things have gotten much better recently.

Fat chance for those Taito Ys remakes to get ported to the US especially with the awesome Ys I and II Eternal for the PS2 not getting ported.

Yeah I agree, I wish Konami would do something about it. I even contacted Working Designs a while back about it, and they said it would be awesome, but that they had no plans for it. I think working Designs could do something special for it too, since they put a lot into what they produce. At least they gave me a better response than Konami did.

Ok....finished it! Thank you Zeomare1 for the walkthrough, I only used it to get past where I was stuck. The last stages were finally feeling like the other Ys games. The very last boss was a rip-off of Napishtim though, but it was still fun. I do hope Taito improves on Ys 5!

I too thought the last battle was just like in Ark of Napishtim. It wasn't very challenging either, not like Galbalan in Oath in Felghana.
