Hey guys, another new guy here. I just bought Ys for SMS off of ebay. I don't have another SMS yet (I got rid of my old one), so I've been playing the abandonware version on the PC. I love it, but I keep getting stuck, and I can't find a guide or any help with this version. I tried guides for other versions hoping they would help, but after looking at the map in the manual of the SMS version, I see things are way different in this version. Has anyone played through this version that can help me out? I'm stuck on floor 3 of the shrine after Zepic village. Does anyone know how I advance to the next floor on this version? Yeah, I know it's kind of funny that I got stuck this early. lol I'd appreciate any help, thanks.

Wow, SMS. Glad to see another person that started on an Old School version of Ys! I started out on the TG-16 CD so I guess that makes you a bit older school than I.
Still, welcome!

YsI on SMS is such a great version! It was the first Ys game I played. I was so young at that time. The level design is very different in this version, it's kind of "mirrored" from the original. I think the SMS dungeons are much more exciting than the original ones.

I'm new here as well.
I first played Ys on the SMS, but I never finished it after acquiring Ys Book I & II on the Turbo Duo, which I just finally beat the other day.

Hey there DoubleD64! I used to talk to you about Ys X68000 on RIGG. Welcome to the site! You know, most people start their own threads for this. Oh well.

Funny you should mention that seldane. After reading that entire thread back on Rigg, all I had to say was "WOW! the entire conversation went from one direction to the other." Edit: speaking of which, I did finally beat it. Damn that final boss fight, for some reason its outrageously fast so I had to slow down the frame rate to beat him.
