Greetings, Scooby gang. At 27, I'm more than likely one of the "old men" of the board, but I am unashamed to say I've been an Ys addict since playing Ys Book I & II on my beloved (and sadly deceased) TG16 CD system back in 1990 when it first came out. I've played every game since and am currently making my way through Oath in Felghana (music's even better than the legendary PCE/TG16 Ys III soundtrack!) and Ark of Nepishtim on PSP. I'm a huge fan of Falcom in general, and am also fond of the Eiyuu Densetsu/Legend of Heroes series (the PCE versions of the first two games being my favorites), Xanadu, Brandish, and pretty much everything else they've published I can get my hands on. "Hardcore" RPG fans can take their Final Fantasy and Elder Scrolls games and choke on 'em - REAL gamers play Ys!  Can't wait to see what the new game is! |

I get the strangest looks from the few people I know here in Kentucky that play video games when I mention Ys, like it's unbecoming of a grown man to play anything other than boring RTS games, The Elder Scrolls, and Halo. With the exception of my younger brother, who also loves Falcom games, I have no one to really discuss them with. I can't imagine ever growing tired of Ys...I'll more than likely still be a fan 50 years from now when "Ys XIX: Adol Buys Adult Diapers" (which I hear is gonna rock) is released. |
