I've been a long time Ys fan since the old Turbo Duo days. My favorite Ys game is a toss up between Dawn of Ys and Oath in Felghana.
Hi Guys! My name's Gianluca, I'm 33 years old and i live in Milan (Italy). I love the Ys saga! since the 1987 MSX Ys version! My long time favorite software house are Falcom and Konami (for the incredible MSX game! Vampire Killer, Metal Gear, SD-Snatcher....) I've played all the Ys champter for most (not all of course) platforms Recently I've played the PS2 version of YsIII and YsIV (not so bad like I heard around....even if the Falcom PC version of all Ys chapter are of another category! and the FANTASTIC Ys the Oath In Felghana.
Bye!
Gianluca

Hello Gianluca! Welcome to the board! Interesting story, did you really play Ys in 1987? It's pretty surprising that the game managed to get to Europe the first year, especially considering the MSX2 version was released 12/10/1987, three weeks before the end of the year. Did you really play it in 1987?

Hello, Gianluca. It's nice to meet a compatriot now and then. You seem to have been interested in videogames for as long as me (I am your age) and, judging from your story, I guess you could even teach me a thing or two on the subject. I definitely share your views on Konami and Falcom, mainly because both companies have always put some serious effort in their games' music, and it shows. Having grown up in the Commodore 64 years, I am used to favouring quality music over graphics in a game (speaking of which, I would have liked an Ys game for the C64, complete with SID tunes: that would have been awesome) and neither company ever let me down in that respect. While Konami has been a long time favorite of mine as well (especially for the Gradius, Contra and Castlevania series), Falcom was more of a late discovery to me, so I still have a lot of uncharted land to cover but I am slowly catching up.
See you around, ciao! Federico
