Hey folks,

my name is Chris, I am aged 24 (oops, 25 since last week) and I am living in the south of Germany.

I am working in a youth hostel and I am studying "social pedagogics"...

One of my hobbies besides music and sport has been videogames since I have been 12 years old...meanwhile I had most consoles and systems, also more exotic things like a Neo Geo AES, MVS (both modded, technical and optical)...and also I got the sweet little, white Engine and a genious Turbo Duo;-)

I have always loved playing RPGs and Action- Adventures like Lagoon, Lufia, Final Fantasy, Zelda and of course Ys...as for my "hate" towards Sony kicking some classical video game producers into "death" with their PS, I did not play many of the (for sure) great compilations and Re- releases like Lunar- package, Ys VI (english version)...but it´s just the general bad feeling I´ve always had for Sony PS since they appeared in 1995 here...bringing for example my beloved Sega to an end within e few years...(how underrated Dreamcast and those great games was!)

Enough for that;-) I got Ys1 and 2 for Turbo Duo/ Engine, the other titles on SNES and also Ys Complete and Oath in Felghana for PC...what still misses me is Ys- Ark of Napishtim for PC...but I guess since japanese is no language for me...it will take some time to start playing those games...

I can think back of times when I made my school leaving exam in 2000 and I had the time to play through the whole Samurai Shodown RPG in japanese on NGCD;-) Right now I sometimes even have the time to play anything...also constating that a good book to read sometimes is more worthy than every videogame (excuse me, I´ve gotten old...)

When I got some time, like now that I´ve holidays...I always play things like Dreamweb, Eternal Champions, NHL Hockey, Ys Complete (right now)...

Excuse my english if not the best...I´m german;-)

Hello there! As far as I know, you're the only one from Germany here. Welcome to the site!

I can see that you like Lagoon! He he, being a hardcore Lagoon fan, it's always nice to see other people who like that amazing game. I sold my Lagoon game for SNES some seven years ago and have regretted it every day since.

However, someone sold a complete copy on a website recently, and I immediately bought it. It arrived in the mail today. I just played it again. It was a long time since I played the SNES version (I've been playing the X68000 version since I sold my SNES game). Oh, right -- I also bought the Japanese SNES version on Ebay a couple of days ago. Can't wait 'til I get that one in the mail.

Oh, just me blabbering about Lagoon, hehe. Anyway, have fun here!

Lagoon kicked my ass when I first saw it;-)
Looking back to my youth (I´m still developing ...well, the whole life is a never ending development)...there have been lots of games (the same with different films and different songs) that somehow "coined" me...such as Zelda (SNES), Eternal Champions (MD), Neutopia (PCE), Samurai Shodown (Neo Geo), and more...

Talking of development...anyone remembers the SNES game "Evo- Search of Eden"?

Talking about development... you'd probably be interested in the fact that me and a couple of others are developing Neutopia III for PC Engine Super CD-ROM.

@seldane: Awesome! How can I imagine that new version of Neutopia? What programs do you use for the project? Are there some screenshots already?

We're developing it ourselves. I'm making the graphics and some of the level design (we haven't really started on that yet). Paranoia Dragon (on this board) is making the music and two other guys (not on this board) are making the sprites and coding the game (known as Keranu and Nodtveidt). So no -- we're not using a program to make the game, we're making the game ourselves. From scratch.

I've made quite a progress with the graphics, and some screenshots will be posted soon.

Great to hear that! By the way, why do answers here come such prompt? I mean it´s great, but it seems some guys like you are online very often;-) Are you working with PC in some way?

Nah, just kidding. I do stop by occasionally though and every time I see a new post, I read it. And reply (if I have anything to say).

cool, another fan of Lufia i bet u also like Lufia II the most because of the stronger action elements... then again, most people havent played much other Lufia than Lufia II.

Howdy Gillian Nice to have you all around. Seldane helped me a lot up to now. It´s really great here, like I mentioned it in another thread...

Inochi, thank you! I do like Lufia in general...especially Lufia I is one of the many RPGs/ Act.- Adventures that remind me of my youth. Those games will dwell in a special "sphere" for me, keeping that special spirit. Never mind if there is an improved action element in another part of the game, I just love the old- style of those games
