Well, it's pretty late over here and I need to get some sleep for work, so I'll try and keep this short.
My name is Chris and I get my handle (Jest) from some a book called "The Blade of Tyshalle" sequel to "Heroes Die," both by Matthew Woodring Stover.
I've been a big fan of Ys since the SMS release and the especially the later TG16 release of both Ys I & II. Adol has somehow become one of my favorite characters and I've played through all of the ones tha have made it to the US and only recently began importing from Japan. (Though I did pick up Ys IV on ebay and played it. I still have no idea what it's about though. Still a lot of fun.)
I play a lot of different role playing games and usually have several going at any one time. Right now I'm playing DQ8, WA:ACF, Ys I & II, and I'll be starting up Oath pretty soon as well.
I work in the hospitality industry as a Banquet Captain and my schedule is usually all over the place. I play basketball (though not enough anymore), read books, and enjoy logic type games (i.e. Sudoku, logic problems)
I hope that I can become a part of this community as I really do love the land of Ys.
Peace Out Jest

Jest, if you are talking about the TG-16 version of Ys IV, there is a patch that will translate it to english for you rigg.arrowsmash.com/translations/ys4/. Of course the audio dialogue will still be in japanese, but the game text will be english. I'm new here too, so welcome aboard!

The Japanese audio dialogue won't necessary be a problem since there's a 100% English script for the game somewhere which also has all the dialogue translated. It's in the same archive as the actual patch.

Yeah, I've been to the site to get the patches for the Ys I & II, but I can't get CDRWIN doesn't seem to want to recognize my DVD drive. I'm not used to using all this ripping tech and whatnot, so it'll probably be a little while before I can completely understand how to get everything to work the way I need it to.
I am very excited to play the game through with at least a vague knowledge of what's going on and I might even download the script to read between the game and a printout.
Peace Out Jest
