Hullo fellow Ys fans. I am....well, call me xdeath. I have been an Ys fan only since playing the PS2 demo of Ark, but I quickly bought the game upon release and have been hooked on Ys ever since. The game felt similar to the first action RPG I had ever played: Lagoon.
I am trying to become an everything-falcom fan as well, but some of the games like to test my patience. I recently download the free versions of LM and VM, and although I don't understand LM one bit, I love VM. I might order Falcom's next special deal, but I'll have to see what it is first. I am in the slow and painful process of learning Japanese, so I can play these gams that I've missed.
Now, a half-related question: Has anyone read The King of Ys series? I read reviews on it, it's supposed to be very good, relating the city Ys of course. Oddly enough, non of the reviewers mentioned the games at all.

hi welcome aboard , i do not believe the King of Ys series has anything to do with the Falcom Ys series. i think it is just two titles with similar names.
I hope you enjoy your time here chris

The King of Ys series has nothing to do with the Ys games. In fact, those books were written in the 1970's! They're both (loosely) based on some old "legend" though, but Falcom's Ys is not really related to anything else. Anyway, welcome to the boards. I hope you enjoy it here. You kinda had me worried for a while though, we've had a spammer known as (among other names) X-Death around these boards for years. Annoying guy. Obviously not you, though (he was like 11 years old or something -- his English was pretty .... bad).
