When I disconnect things like a usb flash card or my mp3 player (it uses usb to transfer), it get the message "Unsafe Removal of Device" message.
I know you're suppose to click on the "unplug/remove" and/or "eject" but it has no effect... is it because it's USB 1.1? Know where there's a drive update?
It's SiS7001 PCI to USB open host controller.
Or maybe I will just add new usb 2.0 drivers instead...

I never had problems with just pulling out a USB stick, on my PC that doesn't use Windows XP I also get that message, but I never lost any files because of it. so I don't think there should be a problem. with my win xp laptop I just get some dumb *ting* sound...I always forget to get rid of it ^^
note: laptop uses USB 2.0

I never had the problem so I can't tell if you can shut it off somewhere...maybe someone else can....but remember it is windows, and that is always the main problem...maybe you should upgrade to win xp

xp?? maybe but that means i either fork over $200 for the darn thing or get a hacked copy but I dont feel like screwing the computer up and it's working fine at the moment... so, I'll go with the next best option... get a USB 2.0 i just dont like how xp has a lot of holes in the program...

if you want a good OS, you should get Linux that's the best...but most games won't work on it. or get winlux, that's a combo of the two it runs all windows programs with the reliability of Linux...

Winlux?? I have never heard of it but I'll look into that... is that by any chance similar to Lindows? I haven't seen it but I've seen people posting it elsewhere.
