Hi all- I'm 31, work in the US Army. From Wyoming and Idaho originally, I've lived in Argentina for 2 years and Germany for almost 4. (Mannheim.) Now I'm in Maryland, close to Washington, DC. I am one of the few that owned a Turbografx-16- I bought it in high school and had 5 controllers, 2 bonk games, Bomberman, Blazing Lazers, and others. I always lusted after the CD attachment and the T-Express, but never got around to getting them. Then I gave my system away to my cousin, and haven't seen it since. He still has it supposedly, but he's in Idaho, and I haven't been back that way for a while. This year started a resurrection of T-16 stuff for me when jsut on a whim I looked it up on Ebay, then google. I've paid for Magic Engine and downloaded my favorite roms, but it's just not the same. I always was curious about Ys and am now even more curious- I HAVE TO PLAY the original!! Maybe next tax refund I'll get a Duo or T-16 w/ cd, but does Ys run on a PC Cd-rom w/ magic engine? Anyways, my time gets pretty sparse sometimes, I'll check in once in a while, but mostly lurk for info... ps- My sig is from the car I bought in Germany, the Ford Taurus "Super High Output", SHO. For a 1991, it sure cruised- sunroof, power everything, and 140mph.

Hello there Will! Quite a nice story there. If you want to play the original Ys games, you're looking for the wrong games. But I suppose you're after the TG16 games out of pure nostalgia (well, at least something like it). All four (three) TG16 Ys games will run on Magic Engine, but it is -- just like you said -- not the same thing. kakihara uploaded Ys Book 1-2 here a while ago, I suggest contacting him if you want to download it. Anyway, I hope you have a good time here at the boards. Welcome!

That's a cool story autobahnsho. I relate to everything you said except I never joined the army and I'm not from Idaho/Wyoming, and I gotta say I wouldn't have guessed a soldier would ever post here, so that is cool too. First, thank you for your service. And second, feel free to pm me with questions, I would gladly help you with anything TG-16 related.
