I love it! The music turned out really great. Adol has 3 different attack moves. There seems to be combo attacks you can build up depending on how many consecutive hits you get on the enemies. So far from the 10 minutes that I have seen, it blows away the SNES version. Although the game just feels completely different in presentation. I'll comment more once I finish it by this weekend.

Actually there is combos but they dont depend on consecutive hits on the enemies. There is a meter where it keeps moving up if you can do a variety of attack moves. The result is a whirlwind effect. You can equiped up to three swords at once and interchange them throught the battle. You can only equip one armor, one shield, and one item. Adol does get captured in the beginning just like in the previous Ys IV games but the whole game experience just seems brand new. The game starts off really easy. I mean Ys III PS2 easy, but once you get past the city in the trees area, the enemies start to toughen up and they take off a whole lot of hitpoints. Anyhow, the graphics are very colorful and detailed. The game just feels completely original compared to the SNES version.

I really dont know what the location names are since they are displayed in japanese. Adol is about at level 12 for me and I'm in a forest area thats raining. If I get stuck I just keep talking to people until I notice the text change which signifies something new.

Im a little past that part sideshow. I got to some Abandoned broken down church and found some stone item. Then went to the next screen and a little scene with Gadis happened where he made an ice golem. Right now I'm lvl 14 trying to beat this accursed Golem T_T

I have beaten that Ice Golem and then you use that stone on a wall to reveal a ice sword. I have now made my way all the way back to the forest near the city in the trees where a new path has opened.

It'd be best if you kept the help posts in a different topic. After all, this is just the "I got it!" thread.

"I got it!" - the game isn't particulary fun, but it's all right I guess. After all, it's Ys!
