This is my lame introduction post.. because I'm bored as hell at work. Anyway, I actually got into Ys probably at the same point a lot of the veterans did, through the Turbo Grafx. Ys Book I & II was awesome. I also played Wanderers From Ys on the SNES. It sort of faded away for the most part, though I went back to them from time to time.. until a few years ago when a friend of mine (who happens to post here) gave me a one-two puch of showing off Ys Complete and Ark of Napishtim. I returned the favor by getting her hooked on the Tales series.. as after the initial demonstration, I ordered the Ys I & II and Tales of Destiny 2 imports for the PS2; she wanted to come over and see the PS2 version of Ys and I forced Tales of Destiny 2 on her as well. Good times.

I'm badder than ol' King Kong and meaner than a junkyard dog.

The fact that you edited the post to change it is really, really creepy. Anime fan creepy. But if those are the rules here then it's not really my place to contest them; though that kind of attitude is sure to affect my decision to continue posting here.
