New member, with some questions already!

Hello, I'm very happy to find a place that reunited so much information about Ys, that was just what I was looking for!
My first contact with Ys was with Ys 3, Wanderers from Ys, SNES cartridge. That was around 1994. Sadly, in Brazil things used to came years later those days, and was a lot more dificult than today to get in touch with imported games. Around that same year I played FF2 for the first time
I loved Ys 3 so much that later I went for Ys in master system to know the series better.
My fun with games today is just play the old classics, look for games that I heard of those days but couldn't play. So, I'm planing to play all Ys games, and try diferent versions of the same chapters, and that's where the question comes.
My plan for 2007 is play the games below and I want opinions of Ys masters, is this too much, or, am I forgeting or losing something? (consider I won't have the guts to play ALL versions of Ys games...)

Wow, a big list. So that's my selection I intent to play this year. Is this good enough to cover everything? Or too much? The saturn versions have anything that's worth looking? Anything else? How about that Ys special?
Sorry about the big post or anything with my english. No need to hurry, because I don't know yet when I will start this big quest.

By the way, Ys V and Ys V Expert is the same game. The only difference is the difficulty level.

Also, avoid Ys IV and V PS2 at all costs. These games aren't Ys.

Can I chime in and say that Ys III on the PS2 is actually pretty good? Okay, so you can beat it in about two or three hours and it was unfortunately made immediately obsolete by Oath in Felghana.. but it's the best version of the old side-scrolling formula Ys III there is by a LONG SHOT.

But yes, Ys IV and V PS2 are gutter trash.

Oh! Do you prefer facepaint, mohawks, or spiked helmets? This is important for raid organizing.

I agree with Deuce's list, those are the best versions.
There are also patches for Ys I-III MSX, but there's no need to bother with them, unless you wanna finish them all.

Have you checked Deuce's site, Legacy of Ys? There you can find about all the releases of Ys games, and lots of good stuff.

Yeah, I know they are. But I'm playing both anyway I'm a little crazy hehehe.

I will play all the PS2 versions too, just to see with my own eyes. At least the music can be enjoyable. I can't understand why people hate Ys3 Wanderers. Maybe I like it so much because it was my first Ys, and music is something very important to me. Ys3 has some amazing tracks, that can't be denied.

I'm taking a look at Ys Book 1&2, PC engine. It's the first diferent version from the one I knew, for Master System. I had no idea the improvements were so cool. Can't wait to see Ys Complete.
