If you have a memory or special moment in Ys I you would like to share, post it here. I would have to say that the greatest moment I had when playing YsI was when I beat the bat for the first time. I was playing the MSX translation and when he split apart, the little bats would cover the entire screen. Not knowing when to hit him didn't help much either. My little sister calls the bat "Count Dracula." I can't spell his real name, though. When I finally beat him, I was so happy. But I was done in by not knowing what key to press to use items. I didn;t know how to use the hammer, and gave up on Darm Tower. I finally beat the PC-88 version recently, and am trying to beat Ys II next.

Mine would have to be first getting to Dark Fact in the TG-16 version. I loved that moment so much, I had truly never seen anything like it at the time. Since then I've watched and listened to it so many times I rememberd all the lines from that scene. It was beyond cool to me, and when ever I went a while without playing the game, that moment always jumped to my memory first. I wish they would go back to doing just portraits of the faces instead of the half body portraits of the characters we see today.

I must've fought the bat boss on the SMS version, but I have no recollection of ever playing that game. I know I finished it, I remember that much.
I would have to say that the Dark Fact scene was my favorite part as well. The music before, during, and after combined with the speech, voice, portrait all made for an exciting thirty seconds!!! Easily my second favorite part of an Ys game. Right behind the intro to Ys II.
Peace Out Jest
