Dark Fact can be seen briefly in the intro sequence. After clearing Fact's tower you can access Ramia village. I think you need to talk to a woman next to a bridge as weel as to this guy: Then the guy at the eastern exit will let you through. Activate your Telepathy magic to enter the shrine. Your first task there is to locate the entrance to the sewers. Good luck mapping this thing! (I think I will provide a summary of what needs to be done as well as the approximate location of important places... it is hard enough just not getting lost.)

So you had me confused for awhile but I think I know what's going through your head. This version is completely different from any other version of Ys II. This tower isn't Darm Tower if that is what your thinking, its just some random tower with a boss at the top. There are other such dungeons/towers like this throughout the game. But one thing is for certain, this version of Ys has the most nudity. Is this the only Ys game that shows this much nudity? Wow, I played this game back in Feb, 2008 that is some time ago. I was a young duckling back in the day.

hi yeah i knew it was different but it still seems to follow many of the basics of the conventional game we all know and love. a tower with a Fact character attached to it in some from or another (name or boss) the whole ending setup, Darm, the door prior to him with the goddess and goban as well as the cinemas at the end are all very similar to the actual Ys 1 and 2. i thought maybe they kind of combined the tower from Ys 1 into this game, all well i guess not BTW any pictures from the opening with Fact?. thanks for all the info guys and gals i am grateful chris

hmm he looks inspired by the anime version with the armor, whitish color hair and gold crown above his eyes, it is a shame we could not have seen more of him.

I remember the legendary FM-77 (God) telling us this was loosely based off the anime series of Ys II Castle in the Heavens. Since I own the complete anime series, I noticed this intro does look exactly the same.

Wow that is right out of the anime. Though thanks to the outtakes on the US DVD releases, now I always hear Dark Fact talking like John Wayne

The shrine consists of 3 main areas : -the South Shrine -the North Shrine -the waterway
The South Shrine is divided into five parts, aligned from west to east (you start at the center part).
The North Shrine, that is accessible later, has two parts (west and east).
The waterway is divided into West, East, Center and North.
There are also a handful of straightforward "sub-dungeons" in there (bell tower, circular tower, goddesses palace).
The most confusing thing I think are the numerous indoor interconnections in the shrine (they are worse than those in Burnedbless).

Is each part of the shrine as big as the valleys? If so this will take months.

You mean, as big as the Wind valley for instance? They are definitely in the same league This is further complicated by the fact these areas are not big empty spaces where you can more or less wander freely (unlike many of the former outdoor maps)... for instance, to access the one important room in the "mid eastern" part of the South Shrine, you need first to go to the far eastern part (via the top floor of the center part) and from there, on the mid eastern part via the intermediate floor.

Haven't felt the old Falcom thrill like this in ages ! Much props to everyone involved To my great despair though, all the soundtrack links are dead. Any chance for a reupload ? ^^; Cheers !

Nothing wrong with that I guess... aren't Falcom and Hudson kindred spirits of sorts?

This is the Pass (used to get past the Reaper barrage). You appear to be advancing fast!
