I know, googlable things are normally taboo here. I just can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Front, side and back pictures of simple, general anime characters -- preferably all of the same one, and preferably dead-on in the four cardinal directions. I.E the side pictures can't have his/her head angled even slightly to his/her sides, and must be able to look directly at a target from any given X coordinate, the target's Y coordinate at face level, and target's Z coordinate in line with his/her shadow. In simple terms, he/she must be able to look at a target which is vertically aligned with him/her yet yields no significance to the horizontal distance; near or far. Just the general idea that the character is looking east or west.
Why would I be seeking this? Code name "Project XX", a game project of mine which has tormented me for 5 years strong now. I still want to make it, I still haven't given up. I recently discovered an easier way to do sprites, involving clever usage of layers, drawing a massive picture with a "first pencil, then color beneath" style, smart resizing the massive anime-esque character to the size of a sprite. It's working flawlessly, so far. I plan on controlling the character's animation like a skeleton; manual rotation of his limbs, manually attaching his limbs, so on and so forth. In short, I'm having trouble mapping out in my head the outline of my character's face for the sides and back, hence why I need simialar art styles; to help guide me as I draw my own. I have the front okay, minus inspiration for the nose or chin, uncertain of whether or not I'm sticking to the original outline of the character. Of course, working on the eyes alone tirelessly reminded me just how much I hate touchpads. Finding precision from a touchpad is like finding conversation with a grain of sand.
Sadly, I must admit progress reports will be nil, as well as any hyping or revelation of the project at hand. I've sworn it to secrecy so that I may work on it alone in peace. Once I have a final-ish build, I'll be seeking some musical talent(s). 5 years spent working on an engine, ideas, story, graphics, and general misc. stuff I could ramble on and on about, as you've witnessed. Programming of which I'll scrap so that I may start from the beginning. It's hard working with an engine I don't even recognize anymore, especially given now that I want to improve it in so many ways... it's easiest just to start over.
I suppose I've tortured you enough with my unamusing musings for today. Thank you for your time.
