Just curious if anyone on the boards is interested in game design, or has been involved in working on a game?
Im currently working on things myself, I can do 3d modelling and animation , level design and limited c++ ..
If anyones interested perhaps we could work on a fan Ys game or something ?

I wrote music for quite a few free games (not one of which ever got finished) while I was in college and high school. During the last two years, I wrote music for what I thought was a professional game for half a year, but I got screwed out of it. I'll just leave it at that. I've written music for actual payment for a couple of cel phone games in Brazil. So you see, I've got tons of experience (in sound effects too), but no recognition or any real payment from it. Nowadays, I teach classes about electronic music for a living and occassionally get paid for sound engineering. As for making a game, I promised myself I'd never work on one again unless I'm either paid, or I'm positive it's going to be finished and that it's a game I'd like. I'm sure you can understand why.

I have been working on *countless* of projects. None of which has ever been finished though. I am currently working on a sidescrolling platformer which is turning out really nicely and I dare to say it's about 60-75% finished. I am also working on an Ys project (really slowly though) and I worked with several Zelda projects a few years ago.

I started making simple games on teh ZX Spectrum and have continued on and off since then, but rarely got anything ever finished. I did a few demos on the Amiga; anime slideshows, learn siple Japanese etc. I also worked on 'GG Eswat' on the Amiga which was a scaled down public domain version of Eswat. It was played on a tiny screen made to look like a Sega Game Gear. Me and my mates then did a LOT of work on converting Alien Storm, purely from screenshots and video taken in an arcade. After a while we decided to scale this down too and almost finished it in 'Game Gear' style. TBH, it was pretty bloody good for the time. Our graphics were spot on and better than the US Gold version released around the time. Anyway...one of the few things I actually completed was a retro remake of the classic 8-bit shooter Cybernoid. You can check it out now at www.sunteamsoftware.co.ukCurrently working on a Space Harrier clone. Will it ever get finished? Who knows but I just love to create so I'll keep on working on it.

Well, I was one of the head beta testers for Meteor Blaster DX for the Turbo/PC Engine, which came out last year, you can see my name in the end credits. I do keep in contact with BT Garner, & he's working on an action platformer for the Turbo. He doesn't have a rom to show me yet, or pics. He's had some tech issues, mostly now are resolved. I suppose I'll probably be a beta tester for that as well. He also has an action RPG ala Ys in the works, though still a ways off. A friend of mine I think submitted his RPG that he designed, but, I think there we're conflicting issues about the "rules" of his game, clashing with what BT wanted.
I'm sure I'm capable of actually composing music for games, & probably will one day, but, I don't have the equipment, or especially the knowledge of equipment & midi, that Justus does. I hope overtime I will. I've made plenty of songs, in my friends studio years ago, he moved, so was limited to sample based stuff, which I want to overcome someday.
Oh yeah, I'm one of the Voice Actors in Ys 4 DOY, so, I guess I'm currently a part of a game project! Voice acting, like music, Transformers, anime, & video games, is deffinitly one of my passionate hobbies!

I worked as beta testers for Maze of Galious remake and I ripped the music from MSX. Another thing I have worked as 3D designer for quite sometime but withoit being paid just for learning and I have very good experience in that matter. I used to do 2D sketching and human fact drawing 5 years ago. Check this link for some of my 3D work chocobo2k.superihost.com/gallery.html
