i have ME, i advise against getting it, get XP or '98. they are far less buggy.

I have win xpon my laptop...and win 98 on my parents pc (which they never use, so I use that HD for extra capacity  ) |

I wish there was a Linux and windows option on there. Becuase I have a Hard Drive with Linux on it and a Hard Drive with windows XP on it

I think there's a Linux called Winlux or something, it lets you run Windows programs in Linux. But I know nothing of Linux, since I don't care.

I had ME... then it got to a point where defragging didn't speed up the computer... so... found a copy for XP... installed it... bomb.. XP  The only problem I have is losing my old emails :\ |

I think there's a Linux called Winlux or something, it lets you run Windows programs in Linux. But I know nothing of Linux, since I don't care. It was called Lindows, but MS sued them or something. Now it is called Linspire. It wasn't a true Linux anyway. |

Xp's not bad ( microsoft has done alot worse ) ME.... was .. i dont want to talk about ME... haha
although im sure there's those out there who use Linux. Ive never tried it myself.. mostly because i play games and Linux doesnt support nearly as many games as windows...
Microsoft is the standard OS now... i cant say i agree with that though. Im one for some variety, or choice....

I want to learn how to use Linux some day, in the next couple of months I'll be trying to figure out UNIX since we need to develop a UNIX server for a school project. UNIX and LINUX are said to be alike. the best windows version is Windows 2000 but that also doesn't support all games.

There's no entry for Windows 2000!
It's the best operating system out there, at least for those who aren't too proud to run a Microsoft OS. Compatibility, stability, good resource handling! 2000 has it all, baby!
XP has so many security problems, and the memory management is an utter nightmare. :/

I run a few different OSes. My desktop is an old Pentium II running windows 98. For UNIX stuff I run NetBSD, which I prefer over Linux. I also have a few DEC servers running OpenVMS.

lol, i thought i was one of the few people who still had wind98se with pentium II...but i upgraded that one to win xp pro. my newer computer is win xp pro also, not too bad i guess.  |
