I'm looking for a decent video card, that can do 2 things inparticular, 1-can recieve audio & video from a game system(most specifically the Amiga CD-32, since it runs in PAL format), & 2-(most importanly) has a video out, so that I can play my PC games, DVD's, etc, on my TV & stereo. I can't afford the most expensice card out there, then again, I don't think these kinda cards are too expensive. I just need to be pointed in the right direction, to what cards should I be looking at.

I suggest you look at ebay because they're usually cheaper then store bought. ATI Radeon has good cards... some people will argue Nividia... but that's up to you... make sure you get one with tv-out audio, the sound cards, are separate from video cards... Creative Sound Blaster Live is the top company out there. I'm sure there are others but this is the only one I'm familiar with. Sound Blaster Live 5.1 is the one that's popular because it's afforable and for good value. I'm sure someone else will come and tell you more

my first thread messed up sooo.. Paranoia your looking for either a TV Tuner, or an All in Wonder card im taking it. Depending on how much money you want to spend you can get just the tv tuner card which isnt a video card - but is a card that lets you plug in a console to a computer ( provided you have the cable adapter for it ) www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=11671&vpn=MS-8609&manufacture=MicroStar( simple external tv tuner you plug in via USB ) you could also get PCI slot cards you put it also ) or you can get a video card/ tv tuner hybrid that are all in one video cards such as www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=11318&vpn=100-714117&manufacture=ATIits around 200 american, they get cheaper but that is a good video card all the same. Now if you arent the type who plays PC games then i'd reccomend you just go for a TV tuner card only will cost you around 60 - 100 dollars Edit: missed where you said you wanted to play PC games Id suggest a radeon 9800 all in wonder, can get it now for around 200 - 250 american www.ati.com/products/radeon9800/aiw9800pro/it'll do exactly what you want, and you can trust ATI they've had hybrid cards like these for years!!!!

oh yes... those USB video adaptors... there's a program called Dazzle 8.... i havne't used it but i'm sure it's decent... it's usb to rbg adaptor (white, red and yellow wire) but I read if you can find that kind of adaptor with a firewire instead of USB, it's better.... i haven't found that yet.... better in terms of data transfere.

Thank you for all the replies! In looking at Radeon, it doesn't seem to do the other thing I want, which is to be able to send the video of my monitor onto a tv, basically, so I can use the DVD player of my PC, on my regular TV, not to mention give my systems some rest, buy using emulators on my tv. Or does this card do that as well? I don't need something terribly powerful, just enuff or so, to be able to play Oath of Felghana(maybe more though, since who knows what they'll do after that).

I dont know how hooking up to the tv works... something to do with s-video but it didn't work for my sister's laptop when i was playing around with it... but the ati all-in-wonder are suppose to do that. you might want to pick up PC World, PC Magazine or those related magazine to see if they have a feature on these things. I have a few website that may be useful for you www.sharkyextreme.comthat's the only one i can remember...

it's a good card, but I you want to play games like Half-Life 2 and WoW with full specs on, you should get a more expencive one. but this is a perfect normal 3D video card, for Ys 6 it's enough, Ys has 64Mb minimum.

I'm not gonna be playing WOW or Half Life 2. Just Oath of Felgahna & emulators to save my Turbo, SNES, etc. from dying out on me. I don't have alot of money right now, so, this is the best I could do anyways. I just hope that the Ys after Oath isn't too powerful for this!

I just hope Falcom will leave the PC scene. Their games would probably do better on consoles. Besides, since they seem to be against piracy protection, there would be a lot less piracy of their games.
(Falcom doesn't use any kind of piracy protection for some weird reason. Too expensive, perhaps?)
