The Boderbund Ys for MSDOS on the left, it's new-mint and still factory sealed after 20 years, cost me $160.

Wow, you guys are hardcore, these collections are awesome! It's kind of crazy how many versions of the Ys series there really are o.O [And all the other Falcom-related games that I think I should look into :p] I need to get myself my own place before I can fill it with more stuff though XD As of now I'm a newb to the series and only have Legacy of Ys [Books I&II] for DS and a Japanese art/guidebook for Ys 2 [The maps are great, I'm geographically-challenged XD] And anyone have any idea what these are? Linked because this pic is a tad huge ^^; ...I'm a sucker for TCGs with pretty art, really :p I'm just wondering if they're art or game based Either way I'll be sure to share some pics whenever they get here, along with the rest of my [meager] collection :3

Daaaaaamn, some of our members here have some awesome collections! Some of you guys have that special DVD for OiF. Was that the DVD that they gave out as a preorder or something? I read a little about it somewhere but I forgot. What is actually on it?

Just a trailer for the game, IIRC. Two YsF trailers (106MB overall) and the following music tracks in WAV format (465MB overall):
- Pulsing Toward Ruin from Ys: The Oath in Felghana Pre-Arrange Soundtrack
- Premonition (Styx) from Music from Ys III
- The Boy Who Had Wings from Ys III JDK Special
- A Searing Struggle from Ys III Super Arrange Version
- Dear My Brother from Ys III Perfect Collection
- Thousand Year Loving (Morning of Departure) (Vocal Version) from Ys III Perfect Collection
- Wanderers from Ys from Ys III Symphonic Poem
- Kill or Cure (The Strongest Foe) from Falcom JDK Band Vol. 2
- MIGHTY OBSTACLE ~The Wind of Zemeth from The Songs of Zemeth ~Ys VI Vocal Version~
- WINDSLASH STEPS from Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim OST
- The Ice Waltz ~ Ice Ridge of Noltia from Ys Healing
- Silver Will from Legend of Heroes VI: Sora no Kiseki OST
Oh cool, thanks for the detailed list! It does seem like it'd be a cool extra DVD to have... Here's my small collection so far (not pictured is Ys:OiF Vista version): Yes, I included some homemade things (Ys OIF files, Ys I&II Complete Files, and US cover for Ys IV) but I DO consider part of my collection I also included two OPM discs since one has an Ys VI trailer and the other has an Ys VI demo with some of the alternate Konami music...

I've decided that, when I get a job, I will buy a display case and start collecting Falcom paraphernalia.
So, until then, I have nothing to show you all... as if there's anything you haven't seen, anyway.

So, until then, I have nothing to show you all... as if there's anything you haven't seen, anyway. Ys II Special, CD-ROM version, with voice-acting. That would be a first. Actually, as far as owning stuff goes, having any version of Ys II Special would be a first. Unbelievable it would be.

I do not have a huge collection of Ys or Falcom Paraphernalia atm, However at my home in america I have a rather dashing Adol display stand nearly life size that still sits in my old bedroom by my pcengine and my apple versions of Ys original floppys and all.
I miss them now... *tear*

WOW!! Totally amazing Ys collections and all pretty exciting. My GF was especially excited and thrilled by the figurines of the Ys charas in MP83's collection. Me, personally I am deeply impressed and kinda honoured by the impressive Ys games selection you have there MP83!! Great work!
My collection is basically as follows: - Ys I - Ancient Ys Vanished/Apple IIGS Ys I - Ancient Ys Vanished/DOS Ys I - Ancient Ys Vanished/FM-77AV Ys I - Ancient Ys Vanished/Fujitsu Micro 7 (FM-7.77) Ys I - Ancient Ys Vanished/Microsoft MSX2 Ys I - Ancient Ys Vanished/NEC PC-8801 Ys I - Ancient Ys Vanished/NES Ys I - Ancient Ys Vanished/PC Engine Ys I - Ancient Ys Vanished/Sega Master System/Ys - The Vanished Omens Ys I - Ancient Ys Vanished/Sega Saturn Ys I - Ancient Ys Vanished/Sharp X1 Ys I - Ancient Ys Vanished/Sharp X68000
Ys II - Ancient Ys Vanished - The Final Chapter/DOS/YsIISpecial Ys II - Ancient Ys Vanished - The Final Chapter/FM-77AV Ys II - Ancient Ys Vanished - The Final Chapter/Microsoft MSX2 Ys II - Ancient Ys Vanished - The Final Chapter/NEC PC-8801 Ys II - Ancient Ys Vanished - The Final Chapter/NES Ys II - Ancient Ys Vanished - The Final Chapter/Sega Saturn/Falcom Classics Ys II - Ancient Ys Vanished - The Final Chapter/Sharp X68000
Ys III - Wanderers From Ys/Microsoft MSX2 Ys III - Wanderers From Ys/NEC PC-8801 Ys III - Wanderers From Ys/NES Ys III - Wanderers From Ys/PC Engine Ys III - Wanderers From Ys/Sega Genesis-MegaDrive Ys III - Wanderers From Ys/Sharp X68000 Ys III - Wanderers From Ys/SNES
Ys IV - Mask of the Sun/SNES Ys IV - The Dawn of Ys/PC Engine - English Patched
Ys V - Kefin, The Lost City of Sand/SNES
I have access to the Windows/PC versions of Ys as well but unfortunately they are only on a loan basis... This will change very soon though.... I don't wanna play them, just touch them..... You know.... Pretend they are mine.....
My phone camera has broken (I put my phone in the washing machine and cannot really afford an upgrade as of yet.....) as I wish I could take some shots to show you some of the rarer stuff....
In all honesty my collection isn't so much about the visual show... I'm a gamer so its thrill of playing rather than the visual showpiece. Basically my collection is a little 'messy' in comparison to some of your collections that I have seen.
I am so overwhelmed by some of the cool stuff that I see before me! Nice!
I gotta NDS and I must say that Ys Book I&II is pretty cool in multiplayer!!

Has anyone done a complete master-list yet of every Ys port? I'm pretty sure I have them all at this point, but who knows...I'm always finding ones I didn't know existed.
Additionally, we need to compile a list of all the different box arts /box sizes for some of the releases, been trying to collect same versions with different boxes now.
Master-List of paraphernalia would be nice to.
Maybe we should just start up a Ys/falcom based wiki to catalog everything.

Oh, true. xD I posted it in the Chronicles thread, and later reposted it somewhere else once more. Lemme get it for ya. *searches for a while* I sent this to MP83 once, but here goes it, for everyone to see: (Note: Cellphone games not included.) Ys I got released for:X68000, X-1, PC-8801, PC-9801, FM-7, FM-77, FM-77AV, Apple2gs, MSX2, Famicom/Nintendo, Sega Master System, PC-Engine/TurboGrafx 16 (Ys Book I & II), Sega Saturn (Falcom Classics), MS-DOS, Nintendo DualScreen, PlayStation2 (Ys I・II ETERNAL STORY), PlayStation Portable (Ys I & II Chronicles), Windows (PC) (Ys ETERNAL and Ys I-II COMPLETE).Ys II got released for:X-1, PC-8801, PC-9801, FM-7, FM-77, FM-77AV, MSX2, Famicom/Nintendo, PC-Engine/TurboGrafx 16 (Ys Book I & II), Sega Saturn (Falcom Classics II), MS-DOS (Ys II Special), Nintendo DualScreen, PlayStation2 (Ys I・II ETERNAL STORY), PlayStation Portable (Ys I & II Chronicles), Windows (PC) (Ys II ETERNAL and Ys I-II COMPLETE).Ys III got released for:X68000, PC-8801, PC-9801, MSX2, Famicom/Nintendo, Super Famicom/Super Nintendo, Mega Drive/Genesis, PC-Engine/TurboGrafx 16, PlayStation2.Ys IV got released for:Super Famicom/Super Nintendo, PC-Engine/TurboGrafx 16, PlayStation2.Ys V got released for:Super Famicom/Super Nintendo (Ys V and Ys V Expert), PlayStation2.Ys VI got released for:PlayStation2, PlayStation Portable, Windows (PC).Other Ys and Ys-related games:- Ys ORIGIN (Windows PC) - Ys: The Oath in Felghana (Windows PC) - Zwei!! (the Windows PC version has 'Typing of Ys' within) - Zwei 2 (Windows PC, has Ys cameos) - Vantage Master v2 (a.k.a. Online) (Windows PC, has Adol, and Feena and Reah as playable characters) - Vantage Master Japan: Mystic Far East (only the Windows PC version, since it has an expansion disc that includes Lilia and Dark Fact as playable characters) - Vantage Master Japan: Power-Up Kit (Windows PC, it's the expansion disc I mentioned above) - Ys SEVEN [PSP, other platform(s)] - Ys Strategy (DS) - Ys Online: The Call of Solum (Windows PC, released in Korea, Japan and Europe) - Segagaga (Dreamcast, has an Ys cameo)Also, only Ys I and Ys II had anime releases, and Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys was planned too, but got canceled, as well as the Ys Strategy OVA(s?). Also as far as anime goes, there is one 'City Hunter' anime episode with a "Falcom - Ys" cameo.
There are many official Ys mangas and novels too, but I don't know about them too much.
Also I suspect there are Ys-related things in other three Vantage Master games: 'Vantage Master', 'Minna no Vantage Master 1' and 'Minna no Vantage Master 2', but I'm not sure. (If they do, the only Vantage Master games that don't have an Ys cameo are 'Vantage Master Portable' and the port of 'Vantage Master Japan: Mystic Far East' for PS2.)

Red Hairdo .... in answer to your question about physical copies..... The simple answer is 'yes'. However it must be said that my collection is pretty messed up.
Unfortunately its a pretty bad combination of buying second hand and my chaotic moving arrangements. For the rare stuff I have literally a 'tatty' original box or something similar.
This is why I am desperate to get a camera so you can see this stuff and give it your expert opinions. Basically the stuff looks real and all that but you never know. I was hoping for opinions/valuations/suggestions to maybe improve my collection!
A lot of the rarer stuff I have backed up as images and is in my 'vault' (Vault: A flat I rent that is just for my stuff and nothing more, even the bed keeps my rare stuff soft and cushiony!! lol).
People who know me all say the same thing about my chaotic world. At the moment my current GF/Life/Work situation is good and so soon when I get a proper house/place to live I will ensure I could maybe build on my collection thus far.
I am really bad because I am all about the games so if there is a quick way to get access to the game I will attempt it. (I get too excited!!! Its my biggest flaw!!!)
The only thing I don't have is the hardware.... I am emulating with original/modded floppies/disk/card readers and so on..... That side of it is quite fun but then again nothing beats the thrill of playing on original kit!
