Well, Konami of Hawaii made the PS2 AND PSP ports of YsVI. No Japanese company touched them.

Let's just hope they don't use those terrible 3-D models and CG fmv's again^^
Also, localization of the PC versions would begreat at maybe a price tag of $30 unless extras (like an extra disc with documentaries plus emulated versions of the TG-16 versions) would be added that would make it worth paying more than $50 for^^
Oh and yeah that trademark Falcom LE packaging too^^

Why wouldn't a company localise the PC version of Oath in Felghana? How much would it cost in terms of dollars to localise, market and distribute the game?

Dont count out Oath to be ported to the PS2 yet. It took nearly 2 years for Ark of Napishtim to finally get ported. The PS2 is far from dead even though the next gen systems are creeping up.
It would be great for Hudson to make a Ys V for TurboDuo on the Arcade Card. Oh ya, and have Ryo Yonemitsu make a return to do the red book audio. Now that would be an awesome comeback for the TurboDuo! Obviously this cry is slim to none but hell why not blurb it out!

If Ys 5 for Turbo comes from anyone, it'd be us(Frozen Utopia), & I'd do my best, to re-compose the music, to a more synth rock sound, in Ryo's fashion! But, ofcoarse, Sel will tell you, it can't be done. But I say it can, why? Because any game, can be made for any system. It might not look the same, or even play the same, but it can be done, like a port of Ys 6 on the Atari 2600, but obviously it's not that drastic, if at all, since the PC Engine & SNES are much closer to eachother.

Probably more than they'd make, sadly. The American PC market is very limited, and focused on more hardcore D&D-based RPGs, FPSes, and RTSes. Anything released for PC outside of that spectrum tends not to do very well in the marketplace. -Tom I am guessing that is more of a fault with the marketing of such games then the market itself.

I'm not so sure about that... most of the self-proclaimed "PC gamers" I know are interested in EXACTLY THOSE TYPES OF GAMES, and pretty much nothing else. You try to give them a Japanese console-style RPG, and they'll just laugh at you. It may be the RESULT of years and years worth of marketing that's caused the market to become this way... but that's still how it is, it seems, and it would take a very brave company to risk financial failure in an effort to broaden the market. -Tom I know what you mean, though a friend of mine is a PC gamer who mostly likes to play MMORPGs and RPGs like Baulders Gate. I showed him Felghana and he thought it was pretty cool and he liked the music. He said he would get it if it came out in English. He might just be a small exception though. I think Felghana's main market would be the people who play console games AND PC games. Felghana has fairly low system requirements that even someone who mainly plays Japanese console RPGs and doesn't keep their PC up to date to play games would still likely be able to play it. The main thing working against Felghana I think is the length of the game. It would have to be released fairly cheap or come with another game (like Napishtim or something).

Hey guys, thanks for the help with this article. I think Steve will be working with us on it when the time comes. We'll have more titles announced soon for the Wii. Hopefully Y's will be one of them!
