I hear about Ys being a short RPG game. I wonder, theoretically of course, if there could be a speed run for one of the games.
If so, which game would be the likely candidate?

Probably Ys III since it's the shortest one of 'em all. It's also possible to finish it faster if you're really good at it. Also, YsI-II ETERNAL (at least Ys ETERNAL VE), YsI-II COMPLETE, YsVI and YsF all feature some kind of time-attack mode. Some of them also display your playtime. They're kind of designed to be played as fast as possible. A question: why did you not know this? Haven't you finished every Ys game ever made? Including the different releases? Shame on you!

A question: why did you not know this? Haven't you finished every Ys game ever made? Including the different releases? Shame on you! In truth, I haven't played every Ys game. This explains why I don't reply that much on the other Ys games. (And my lack of Ys knowledge, of course) Based on the Ys games I did play, they don't seem to have many glitches that can be exploited for a speed run video. That's the main reason I asked.

Ys I, II, and VI took me several months. III took me like 5 days. although right now i'm blowing through Ys I very fast with the 99,999 experience password.

I finished the PS2 version of YsIII in three hours. And I didn't hurry either. I just played nice and slowly. Hehe.

That's very good! I finished the PS2 Ys III in five hours, over two days. I really want to see that Ys V, it's hard to believe there aren't any pics yet to my knowledge.

Ys V for SFC went by really quickly. I also beat Ys I-II for PCE in one sitting when I went to a friend's house only to find myself abandoned there a while. At least the Duo was hooked up...

Ys 1 is incredibly short. Ys 2 seems to be longer than the others so far. Ys 3: WFY goes by pretty fast. Ys 4: DOY is reeeeeally long from what I've played so far. Ys 4: MOTS plays through faster than DOY. Ys 5: Fits between DOY & MOTS. I still have yet to play Ys 6 (but you can count that I'll get it once I get my PS2 next month!) The same could almost be said for OIF.... at least til I get the opportunity to either order it or wait if Konami will port it. that should be a quick sum of all that I've played in the series.
