Ok, so how would I start up in Japanese OS mode? I have the Language packs installed, but I don't know how to run in Japanese mode.
And whenever I want to play the game, do I have to run in Japanese mode?

It told me I needed to restart. Did I do something wrong?

I'll give it a shot. If it works I owe you my life...or something like that.

Yeah, I still get the same error, only this time it's in real Japanese characters. I think my problem is that whenever I open up the install file, the little language indicator at the bottom of my screen switches to English, but when i close the installer, it goes back to Japanese. What's going on?

Just right click on the CD and select "Browse". Then drag the whole folder to wherever you want to have it. The installation does the exact same process anyway (except it adds a very basic uninstall option in Install and uninstall new programs).

Never mind, I fixed it myself. Thanks a lot for the help though.

Where'd you get Ys complete from? I've only seen Eternal being sold. I saw one website in japanese that showed some contrast in physical appearance between the two games, and complete looked a bit nicer. Why did they release an Eternal and a complete Ys I&II?!?! It only confuses me!

The only difference between Ys II Eternal and Ys II Complete is that Complete has Time Attack mode (and possibly Nightmare as well). They are visually and aurally 100% identical. Actually, that's not entirely true - Ys Eternal looks a little different. Adol, for example, does not look the same, and his movement sprites are very different (it looks like he's going to fall every time he takes a new step when he's running in Ys Eternal). The trees aren't identical, they are more detailed in Ys Complete. The debris outside of the shrine in Ys Eternal also look completely different from Ys Complete. And as you said, the colors are different in Ys Eternal. Also, other details, such as barrels, fruit baskets, etc. are more detailed in Ys Complete. It also has more visuals like shadows of the clouds, etc. ETERNAL COMPLETE I might upload some real screenshots later, that will really show how the differences are. I just borrowed these screens.

Dude, that's why he said Ys II complete. Ooops. And I made all that trouble with the screenshots and all. Am I embarrased. In that case, Deuce's right - they both look the same.

Heh, I tried finding the site I saw complete and eternal on and I got irritated when I couldn't find them, but I appreciate Seldane for actually showing the contrast with Screenshots, cuz that's what I was trying to do. :-P But still, did complete not have as much production as eternal, b/c I can only find eternal being sold.

Well, why sell the old one when there's a new one? I mean, the old one is old. And I mean really old (1998) and I don't see any other PC games from 1998 being sold - do you? (With the exception of PC best buy games, etc)
