Is there any word about when the music for Ys VI will be out (aside from the Falcom 2004 boxed set)

If you mean "Ys Memorial Sounds," that was a giveaway packed with Ys Vi and doesnt have any music from Ys VI. I dont see any music from Ys Vi. I must learn to be more patient.

You are talking about Ys IV(4) I was asking about Ys VI(6) I would still like to get the music to Ys IV(4), but they are out of print. I dont think Falcom sells them anymore, they are all out. They may reissue some of them, they way they did with symphony Ys, and the special box '89. That would be great! but it is probably unlikely

Oh! You meant YsVI! I am so stupid....
Well, the YsVI music can be found in the YsVI folder really. It is very good. But a soundtrack? Yes. That can probably be purchased shortly.
I think they still sell the albums, try e-mailing Falcom. It's nihon@falcom.com

Yep. That is true.
But how come you want it so badly? Have you heard the music? (It is really good, though). Buying the game will give you 1000 times the enjoyment, since the game itself is wonderful, AND you get to listen to the music, as you play it. (Or just listen to the files in the music folder).

whya do I want it? the Ys music is some of the best I have ever heard. Falcom has some of Ys Vi music on their website. I have only listened to that and the midi's you sent me. They are similar to the rest of the series but distinct enough to be good in their own right. I will endend up getting it, eventually.

I didn't send you any MIDIs. Only MP3's. MIDIs can be found at www.rpgamer.comYeah. The Ys music is (of course) great, but it is more fun to actually PLAY the game first.

yes of course it is good to play the game first then listen to the music when you are in the car or where ever, then you remember how cool the game was, and that I really should try to get my turbografx cdrom fixed, or get a duo...
Also, I admit, I dont know the difference between MP3s or Midis or whatnot

You don't? Well, MIDIs aren't good at all. Mp3's are. I listened to all the songs yesterday, it was very nice. I like the YsVI soundtrack a lot. It has some of this "Ys feeling" to it.

Did the soundtrack come with the game? I dodnt think it came out until the 19th. tho, no doubt, there will be sever versions of it. Ys V han an OST, an image album, and I think a symphony version(tho I may be thinking of Symphony Ys '95).
I expect Ys Vi to get similar releases.

Yes of course the soundtrack comes with the game itself, how else would the music be played while playing?
Yes. I know, there has been numerous Ys music releases. Probably some of this will be released too.

Yes of course the game has music, but only the turbografx cds have red book audio(where you can put the game cd into your stereo and listen to the game's music) The pC cds dont have red book audio, but i thought maybe the limited edition of Ys VI included an OST... it does cost 100 dollars afterall..

No, no. You can listen to the sound files themselves, you can also burn them to a CD if you want that. So it IS the OST. Because it is the actual sound files that is played in the game.

why not simply look up the music files (.ogg) in the falcom folder.they should play fine on winamp.all the tunes are there, even the intro tune.

The way I made my Ys I and II Eternal and VI OST's was that I just installed the PC games on my harddrive. Look in the folders where the sound files are then use a converter like DBpower Music Amp to make them either .wav, .mp3 or whatever format you want. Then burn them to CD.

Wow guys, way to respond to an over-one-year-old thread. Ironically, chances are, if you've heard any MIDIs from Ys VI, they were made by me. To this day, I've never found a single MIDI from Ys VI that wasn't made by me, and I only made two anyways. By the way, both MIDIs I made are available, both in the original Sound Canvas format that you need a Roland SC-8850 to hear correctly, as well as the watered down General MIDI format which will be far better for the vast majority of people, here at vgmusic: www.vgmusic.com/music/computer/microsoft/windows/index-sz.html?Also, you may have said it over a year ago Seldane, and probably know better by now, but I can't help pointing out that MIDI is NOT inherently worse than a recording. It depends on quite a few things. After all, practically every Falcom in-game soundtrack from '95 onwards is simply a MIDI file recorded from a certain synthesizer (SC-88 and SC-88pro in the old days, and more recently, an SD-90). For instance, if I play the MIDIs Falcom made for SC-88pro on my SC-8850 (which has an 88-pro retromap), it sounds IDENTICAL to the recording! Besides, MIDIs are far easier to play around with! You can change sounds real easily, as well as key, notes, tempo, or effects. You can change practically anything you want about it! Also, if you look at a MIDI written by someone good (like soundteam JDK), you can learn a lot!

And well, Justus, I do know MIDIs can sound very, very good. But with a "regular" sound card it won't (well, at least not better than MP3s - in many cases), and that was what I meant. I knew that Dracula had one, and I had one, so I was meaning that.
