Hey guys....I figured out how to place Turbo Grafx songs of Book 1 and 2 in the Ys Complete PC version! All you gotta do is copy the files of Ys complete PC version play disc onto your hardrive (I put it on the desktop) then replace the WAV files from the game (called WAVE_22) with the Turbo Grafx WAV files, and then reburn the disc with the same info as on the PC play disc. You will have to have a Ys Book 1 and 2 Turbo Grafx disc to take the songs off of. I used Easy CD creator and converted the songs on the disc to WAV files, and then replaced the songs on the the PC version with these songs. When you convert the songs you have to make sure you convert them with either 22kH or 44kH depending on if you have the CD version or DVD version of Ys Complete. When you replace the PC version songs with the Turbo Grafx songs, you have to rename the WAV files to match exactly with the PC version WAV files. Then when you replace these with the PC version, reburn the disc with the replaced songs. When you try the play the disc it wont read......to bypass this, put the original PC play disc in and when you get to the LOAD game menu, replace this disc with the one you burned and then hit start and then you will be able to play with all the awesome music from the Turbo Grafx game. I am sure this process can be repeated to place whatever version of songs you might have with these WAV files, such as Ys PERFECT collection....can u imagine?!

ok.....so i noticed a glitch......the songs work fine....however some songs are longer or shorter than the other version, so the music either loops early or there is a long pause....I will have to work on this

ok.....noone seems to really care but I am posting these anyways ....lol.
I finally figured out how to make the songs work by downloading a free audio editing software called "Audacity" from Download.com. This program allows you to manipulate songs, repeat them, cut parts out, add bass and effects.....its a really great program for free.
oh .....and the reason the disc wouldnt start properly is because i didnt have the latest YS_WIN files on my version......now it works. Thanks to Seldane, now I do.

Well, one of the big problems with this is that the original Ys Eternal (Complete) soundtrack was made to loop seamlessly. It's pretty well guaranteed that you'll NEVER get different tracks to loop seamlessly like that unless you:
a) got a hacker to hack into the code so that the loop points could be changed b) got someone with experience at working with sound to discover/set up proper loop points for whatever tracks you were attempting to insert

Well, making an own one can't be hard. But how does the looping go? Have you played it a lot? Does the music stop at an unwanted position and then restarts? Or is it silent every now and then? It can't be perfect. And if you ask me, the PC Engine music is a bit boring and I prefer the original Ys COMPLETE music. But some Ys Perfect Collection music might be cool. But I doubt it'll actually fit into the game.

yeah it loops in unwanted places, here is an example.... in the song of the ruins of Moodoria right in the middle of the awesome guitar sequence it just suddenly starts in the middle of the song again...... and the songs with the long pause I fixed by repeating the song over again. Its really no biggie...this thing was just an experiment.....I just thought it would be cool is all.

Now, on the other hand, the music for Ys 6 and Legend of Heroes 6 are both really easy to change, because they are OGG files, and the looping information is embedded directly in the file's tag, so you can edit the loop simply using Winamp.

I do believe I got around this looping problem, although it was a while ago. If I recall correctly, you have to delete these small files (named exactly like the WAV files, but with a different extension) located in the same WAV directory. These are the files that contain the looping information. If they're not present, the songs will just play until the end and loop, although there seems to be a bit longer pause before the song restarts.
Let me know if that works for you.

awesome.....i will try this.....i thought those files might be needed in order to even play them, thats why I didnt touch them......but I will delete and reburn it....now only if they would hurry up and finish the Ys 2 English patch.

Thanks Lord Darm for informing me about the Ys Eternal tracks on the play disc. Whats strange is that all the audio tracks for both game are on that one CD, yet when I extract them and try to put them on one audio CD, there isnt enough space to put all the tracks on one CD? I just split them onto 2 different CD's in WAV format.
