Today has to be the worst day ever, my beloved cat Bonks (named after the video game character) died today. I got her when she was a kitten and she has been here since for 15 years, she was a indoor cat so she never left our sight, she was no longer a pet she was a part of the family (anyone who owns a pet like this knows what I am talking about). she passed away this morning, when I got up she was gone, if I would have known I would have stood up all night and kept her company. When i got her the game just came out and I thought it would be a cool name for a cat (instead of the more traditional names). she died of cancer that spread to her lungs, all this week she was not eating and started to have a hard time breathing. We all saw it coming (but even still I am not ready for this) I feel like someone ripped my heart out this morning. have you guys (and girls) been through this before? if so any suggestions on how to make this upcoming week easier. thanks guys for hearing me out, and sorry to the Mods if this is alittle to off topic. chris Pic of her she was half asleep when i took it , she heard me near her trying to get the camera ready and she woke up, I wanted to get one of her sleeping.

I'm sorry to hear the lost of your cat. No one is ever ready for any deaths. Just take it one day at a time.
Bonks is a great name... and this is Bonks as in TG16 Bonk's Adventures - head butting caveman?

Man, sorry to hear about it. Hang in there. I once lost a puppy we named "gumby" and that hit me pretty hard. I think you could immortalize her by drawing a picture of her or turning her into comic character. I think it is safe to say she lived a nice full life for a cat, and you can take comfort in that. I wish you the best and know you'll get through it all soon.

thanks guys and girls, yea she was named after the Bonks Adventure game, everyone who heard the named used to smile and loved it because it was so different. Thankfully she lived a good life she always had a roof above her head and food in her dish, this I am quite grateful for. she was very quiet and never wrecked anything and was always very friendly, except to the other cats I have, she would not let them get close, (when she slept on the couch it was officially her couch ). I have 5 cats total (only 4 now) and I really wish she was back. It is worst for me because she was here so long, it does not feel like it but she has been here 15 years, (I am currently 30) literly half of my life and that is what makes it so tough it feels like she was always there. chris

Thank you MP83, I to am very sorry about your lose as well, I truly understand how you must feel, it really is tough. i can see the first few weeks are going to be rough. this is the first cat i have ever lost , I have 4 others the thought of losing them I do not want to ever think about. I would rather lose my arms then lose them this whole night the other 4 seem so much more important now then ever before (and they were already family in my book). I guess even the lose of the smallest life can bring out a whole new appreciation for all life. chris
