I have reservations posting my FC since my condition is that I won't play ANYONE seriously. XD So if anyone's looking for some serious brawlin' or for someone with mad smash skills, look elsewhere! Edited since sending pics works now! Also! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee! www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9Ze6ECLDyI

Hey, where's Red? You can take SSB seriously if you want to... and that's with or without items and crazy stages. For many people it's the competitiveness that's part of the fun. While I do try to win, I personally find my joy in the amount of crazy, rotfl-inducing moments that happen every 5 minutes... even if you're trying to take it seriously. This time I'm finding it even more fun with Brawl... I don't know if it's due to the beefed up Kirby or because Ike is too damn awesome, but I've been winning a lot more over my brother for once. It might also be because he finds they really gimped Samus in this one, but he's starting to find a new, deadly strength in Pit and that's been evening the odds a bit lately. Anyways, I find more satisfaction in just getting the most kills I haven't played online yet... I'll share my number some time later.

Nooooo. Marth is better! I hate Ike due to the stupid online players that spam his moves. I suppose it wouldn't be an issue for me if I knew how to work around them. XD I don't like items! Please brawl with me. What? But but but! CURRY BATTLES! BANANA PEEL BATTLES!!!!! They are awesome! At least do those. DDDDDD:

Marth is so gimped from his Melee version... which sucks cuz he was my 2nd to Kirby in Melee. And he wasn't all that strong to begin with even. Marth was effective for me if you got his timing down and his speed under control, and forward-B was essential for getting back to platforms, as was his quick A attack for comboing up some percentages... now all of that has been damaged in Brawl. I really do miss the Melee Marth... I love how I could run around quickly A-slashing at everyone (to set them up for a nice, strong, well-timed B-attack) instead of focusing on one opponent at a time. I don't think I spam with Ike because I pretty much love to use all of his moves. They're all effective and good to use in different situations. Also, from years of playing tons of fighting games, it pains me to use the same move three or more times a row (it does happen by accident sometimes, in a mix of tension and carelessness). Just hearing the same yell 3 times in a row makes me cringe (i.e. kirby's "EEyah... ayn!" or Ike's "Aaaraaah!"). Also, everyone I play with called Ike a monster and even overpowered when I first used him on them, but now they're starting to evade me and take advantage of my slower pace. You can't really trap people into many multiple-hit combos with Ike, unless you use his up-B attack, so you instead have to use a more patient strategy and look for opportunities to strike hard without leaving yourself open. And I don't know if it's just cuz I'm no longer used to it, but battle feel really empty and a bit dull to me without some items. I really don't mind them and love to get used to working them into how I defend and try to survive in a match. Strangely, the smash ball is ending up being my most disliked item in the game. Final Smashes feel totally unbalanced and getting Smash Balls feels far more reliant on luck than skill... that's how I feel about it so far. I can work around any "random kill" items or whatever, but the smash ball really hurts in single player. In multiplayer it only hurts when the smash ball seems to swing in the winning player's (or just one repeatedly lucky player's) favor, which I find happens more than often.

Inochi I know what you mean. Samus used to be my best character until brawl made her as slow as a clam. Yeah it sucks playing without her but in some ways thats good. We don't really need a new smash when all the characters are the same as the previous version, thats the whole point of making brawl, making new stuff up, good or bad. I don't like items cause I like to fight people fair and with honor.

Hey, where's Red? Called me? xD Soon my cousin will get his Brawl and Wii, so until then I won't be able to face many of you online. I also hope you don't mind a little of lag. =x Also note Brawl was made with the intention to be as balanced as possible. Sakurai cut off almost every "advanced technique" from both Melee and 64 (40 or so), and has balanced the characters in every aspect. Every character is really good, with no exceptions. Though a very few obscure techniques are showing up. Hey, guess which character I main? Random. =] But as of today, I'm especially skilled with Snake, Marth, Lucas and Ness. That number is going to keep raising. Ah, how I wish there was Melee online... And HOW I wish there was Roy on Brawl... damn it, if Sakurai had released it later on 2008, this game would have been perfect, he would have finished the characters... Only if he didn't focus on Adventure Mode that much... damn these 100% capitalist bastards. xD

Hey, adventure mode and subspace emissary mode are crazy fun. I like 'em better than the actual head to head, truth be told. =[
What are your opinion on the final smashes, Red? I'm kinda on the fence about them myself, and my friend who loves fighters in general considers them broken garbage and will do all he can to waste them (he's a ROB player).

Hey, adventure mode and subspace emissary mode are crazy fun. I like 'em better than the actual head to head, truth be told. = So do I, actually. Kind of. I mean, for me: Melee's Head-To-Head > Brawl Adventure Mode > Brawl's Head-To-Head What are your opinion on the final smashes, Red? I'm kinda on the fence about them myself, and my friend who loves fighters in general considers them broken garbage and will do all he can to waste them (he's a ROB player). As for them, they are banned in most championships, worldwide. The moment and position the Smash Balls appear involves luck in which can decide a match unfairly, among other luck-related things. Now, as for the Final Smashes themselves, it has been proven that they are not really balanced between the characters. For example, an easy comparison is between Marth's Final Smash (an absolute killer, easy to SetUp) and Link's. Both work in the same fashion, but only Marth's will kill with even 0%. Also, as Sakurai has been saying in his smash site, some Final Smashes are better in certain stages. So all that generate a fairly big polemic about their usage. I personally don't play with them, except when I want to have some unserious matches and fun with tons of people at once. =]

Also, thoughts on Captain Olimar, Red? Given how completely odd he is?

Also, thoughts on Captain Olimar, Red? Given how completely odd he is? Surely. xD He's a really weird character in all senses. He's a really good character due to his Pikmin. His greatest weakness, however, is that he can be EdgeGuarded very easily, since he must have many Pikmin to recover and his recovery move is of the "whip" type, so if you're just holding the Edge he's dead. But like I said, all characters are very good. ... still, I should point out the balance isn't perfect. Some characters are being seen as having rather unbalanced characteristics. The currently considered the best (which is about to change from time to time since we are still new to the game) are Meta Knight, Toon Link, Marth, Pit and Snake. Anyway, it's nothing to take on too seriously.

Noooooooooooooo. You guys are too serious about Brawl. D:
*goes back to voluntarily diving off the screen*
Oh, has anyone here managed to do a solo Home Run contest with a score of 2000 meters or higher? :/ My max is some between 1600 and 1700. It was only done through luck with the Ice Climbers. >_>

Yes sir! With Yoshi and Sheik! Sheik's Up+A (I forget if it's the smash or the regular; she extends both arms sideways) works wonders, and Yoshi's midair Down+A (not smash) gets some good percentages. I believe I also did it with Lucas; I followed their example via the demo video for the Home Run Contest; throwing the bat, knocking the sandbag down with a mid-air Down+A attack while it's flying sideways, and smacking it with Lucas' stick, kicking it with the ground Down+A repeatedly. It was nuts, and VERY difficult to pull off, but it was cool to see the result! I must've attempted it about 10 times before getting it right. Edit: NEVER underestimate the power of the bat! Throw it as often as possible at the sandbag! Especially if it's overhead, like it is normally when you use Sheik's Up+A!
