Just curious -- if you owned pirated stuff (like a soundtrack burned onto a CD-R), or just some hilarious rip-off thing like Overlord Leaves His Wife, would you CHARGE MONEY for it (er, postage/shipping costs aside)? I, uh, have to admit that I did something like this a long time ago where I sold an SM Records CD for like $3 or $5. :P

I (unknowingly) bought a pirated Sword of Mana which I later resold.

Ah, piracy. I thought of it once, actually. When I was around 12, I considered selling copies of this Namco Museum-esque PC port (for chump change, lunch money, etc.) around school. That was back when we were all still using Floppy Disks. I never followed through, so I'm clear.

I still own some bootleg soundtracks, including a few Ys ones, that I bought official copies of later. I would happily give my bootleg Ys CDs away. Back in the early days of Anime Weekend Atlanta almost all the CDs sold were bootlegs. I also own a bootleg Famicom system. I don't mind owning it, though, as it lets me play my Famicom Ys games.

years ago I would copy my own pirated copies of PSX games, I sold them usually at empty CD-R prices. once in a while someone I hardly know would want a game to and I charged him more. ripping of friends is wrong, but ripping off people you hate isn't that wrong

Wait, first you say hardly know them, and then hate them? What's it gonna be?

Nice Famicom clone. I have a thing for those... they are all so cool and interesting. I love them.

I bought it at a Video Game shop (Kamikaze Anime) in Little Tokyo in 2004.

If you're selling a bootlegged disc online, don't. Only do that if you are specific with the person you are trying to sell it to. If you try to sell something that is bootlegged on Ebay, Amazon, etc, then you will get your account banned. If you know specifically who you want to give it to already, then you should be able to do it. Do NOT charge money if you are giving it to someone online. Only charge shipping, but no cost. If you try to actually sell it and someone finds out, you will be in big trouble. None the less, selling something that is bootlegged is not a good idea at all. It's okay to give something bootlegged that is free, but not for profit.
just my 2 cents.

I wouldn't - if I obtained something for free it would be worse if I were to profit from it... If I didn't pay for a pirated CD I wouldn't go and charge others for it.
I knew a guy a long time ago who worked at a software shop and they were actually allowed (at that time) to take the latest software home and use it - for product info purposes. No prizes for guessing what scheme he came up with from that!
