Hey d00des, do any of you read books by Kevin J. Anderson? I only know of him through a crap ton of Star Wars novels he's done and also from his co-authoring of the Dune prequels with Brian Herbert.
If you have read his works before, what do you think about his writing?
All I can say is that I couldn't finish reading one of the early SW books he wrote since it was too painful; he was CONSTANTLY drawing from the movies. If I wanted so much information about them, I'd go and rewatch them dammit.
I also read the first book from the Dune prequels and didn't think much about it. I never ended up reading the other two in the series. XD

I have read a ton of star wars books, but I rarely ever pay attention to the author, unless its famous like timoth zhan (what a great trilogy of books). Which ones did he author?

Anderson did Darksaber, which was regarded as the worst of the Pre-Prequel movie Star Wars books. and I think still is considered the worst one. Yes, I own it. And many of the other pre-Prequel movie books. =[
Anderson is a hack. Just reading the summaries of what he and Brian Herbert did to Dune makes me mildly apoplectic.
it wouldn't be so bad if Anderson wrote his own stuff, rather than shitting on the continuities of other things. Especially Dune.

Fear him: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_J._Anderson#Star_Wars_booksI think I was attempting the read the first book out of the Jedi Academy Trilogy. :/ And holy crud. I never knew there were so many other Dune books he co-wrote. DAMN HIM. *shakes fist* NOOOO. He even co-wrote a StarCraft book!? Bloody hell. Someone stop this man! But yeah, the first Thrawn trilogy that Zahn did was quite spiffy. :3

Thrawn alone justifies the existence of all those other shitty Star Wars books.

HaHa I really liked the Thrawn series. I always though a better name could have been made for "Luuke"

To be fair, it's kinda Star Wars clone tradition to add some extra vowels to the name.

I once looked at a few pages in a Star Wars comic book, and Luke was called Look. It was strange.

Which comic was that? I got a bunch of old star wars comics laying around, I should give em a read again. The dark forces series was too cool, ala Palpatine resurected.

Sorry, I have no idea. I just flipped through a magazine in a store many years ago. I think it was in 1998.

Zahn was definitely more interesting, the Dark Empire and Tales of the Jedi series was even more so.
