Hah, didn't think I'd start this thread, did you? Well, I have just purchased Persona 3 -- and I have an extended warranty on it so I can trade it for the cheaper P3:FES. I hear that P3:FES includes the original game as well as the extended game, but my current box "includes a 52-page hardbound art book and a soundtrack CD featuring the music of Shoji Meguro". Has anyone purchased FES yet? Does it include the same extras, and should I feel guilty if I return my current purchase for FES?

Oh wow, it requires a whopping 67 MB? Does Sony still sell PS2 Memory Cards? Edit: That's the worst typo ever. I was totally fooled, and overlooked the fact that PS2 Memory Cards are only 8 MB.

Does that mean whoever did the Wiki was high when they mentioned that FES was short for FESTIVAL? That did sound a tad far fetched I must say. Yeah, man... tsk tsk on box typos. Not only was it on the game case, it was on the big box too! They corrected it in the instruction manual. I can't believe I almost paniced and deleted some saves over that. Again, silly old me had to overlook the crazy fact that the cards themselves only hold 8 MB as opposed to the outrageous claim that the game requires 67 MB. XD That's like 9 memory cards total! If a game required 9 memory cards for one save, I don't think I'd ever pick it up. I mean, can you imagine trying to save and load your games? "Insert Memory Card 3... 4... 5... 6... 7... 8... 9..." That'd be even MORE absurd than old computer games which required you to install them using like 10 different floppy disks!

I don't like saying this, but "fes" means "farted" in Swedish.

Is that so, Wyrdy? Mine's cooler, then.
Also like half the words in Swedish refer to bodily functions. It's like how virtually all the insults in Afrikaans are literally translated to "your mother"

It's a stupid name indeed, but at least the game's okay. Geez I've never had my ass handed back to me so quickly and so often in an RPG before. The difficulty is ungodly, but I like it. Right now I'm in panic mode because I have two days left (05/06/2009) to complete quests 1 and 2, and my last save only had progressed as far as floor 9 of the tower. That, and my characters are tired. Should I start over?

Of course. But then again, you can't exactly save and load in life either. Well, time to do something crazy and attempt to singlehandedly slaughter the 10th floor shadows... alone. Edit: Alright, this is pure luck. If I can get through the whole battle without bash missing them ONCE... well, then I'll be set. Crazy thing is, I already beat them before -- no idea how.

Ha, did it. My character recovered from his fatigue the following day, and I opened up a can on the 14th floor then. Now I'm working on May 9th, Saturday. This is the first game that actually allowed me to use my whole screen name. Nifty!

One more question about FES: will I be able to carry over my progress from the old 2007 version for "The Journey"? I'm just curious because I can't seem to find FES anywhere locally. (Plus, I can't make any online orders because I don't know when my family wants to leave this dump behind.)
I had to look through a FAQ just to figure out what Third Eye did... they say what it does in-game but they don't make it obvious, it seems like a pointless skill when you already have an analysis of the enemy.

In other words; I'm down to no yen, my levels (outside of the compendium) are pretty much null, I go from a badass to a wimp (no courage), my equipment's reduced to the bare minimum, my social links revert to nothing, and my quests are wiped out? That doesn't sound too bad! Infact, it sounds like good news if I can afford some of my good old heavy powered Persona during the next playthrough. It'd also be pretty nifty to have more time to improve my social links, without having to worry about academics and charm.

Alright, I just picked up FES last night. Oh boy, I'm not really even sure about it yet. I just got to the new requests and all -- 4/30. I like some of the characters' new lines, but occasionally I find myself wanting to hear the original lines instead. Plus my old file is quite a few months ahead of this one. I'm contemplating whether to complete the original before *seriously* picking this one back up, but so far it's interesting seeing what they've added; and likewise, what they've removed. I find myself at a disadvantage without the ability to freeload off of the fortune (Heh, lottery.) box nearby the altar without wasting time. On the other hand, I find I have a lot of free time without having to worry about social stats; Academics and the like. New ways to strengthen my Persona is a nice addition. Overall though, I think I'm going to just finish what I started with the first release version before continuing on with FES.

That's true. Plus, I can still max the other S-Links in P3 Lite so I don't have to worry so much about who I spend time with when I give P3 FES a real chance -- allowing me more free time I could spend toward trying out (and finding) the newer features. I like the new additions, but I think I'll just take your advice for now, before the game gets stale.
