Everytime I try to clean up viruses on my computer with the AVG command line scanner, it shuts down. I can't fully install regular AVG either; or if I did, I can't boot it up. Anyway, here is a list of infected programs and poorly written kanji. The final one in korean is just a suspected program. I am hopeful that someone may be of assistance, and furthermore would be most thankful. Eh, sorry if that was a rude request but this is an emergency. My computer randomly shuts down, randomly programs and files go missing, and randomly I lose my taskbar or the shortcut menu on the taskbar. I run XP, with a downgraded SP2 for optimal dosbox operation. Again, any assistance would be appreciated. Edit: Alright, let me see if I can *type* the list out (without my system going bonkers) so that you can understand what I wrote down. Virus Infection Detected: - efcDUOGa.dll - winlogon.exe - rqRHAtrr.dll - lsass.exe Something that came up during the scan: - Font Substitutes\\@[japanese] Adaware.Rogue Found: - HV7131R\\ ?? (My computer randomly shut down before I could write it all down, and I haven't been able to get that far into the scan since.) Suspicious file unrelated to the scan: - Patcher MFC [korean]

Odd that AVG would list Standard Gothic at random. (Hooray, someone could read my imitation kanji!) Hmmm... as far as techies, I'm kinda limited to myself. I'm gonna try Avast! as FM-77 suggested, and I'll report back here with the system status. By the way... does anyone know what system32\abcgdsmd.dll is? RUNDLL reported an error that the specified module could not be found. Is the korean file anything to worry about? I looked it up, but all I could find was someone complaining about ATI drivers and their MMO graphics going to hell, haha.

Haha, that's good! I was afraid of misprinting in the slightest, knowing how simialar some kanji can be -- especially those second and third to last; sometimes I get carried away and write bigger than I should. I suppose I was training my hands and eyes with self-portraits. Of course, I also modified the spacing in the close-up. I wasn't even sure where to start when I wrote them -- which often mirrors my english handwriting. Come to think of it, I hope nobody learns my handwriting when I teach, haha. Unless they already know how to write english letters?

Alright, currently waiting for Windows Update before I reboot and give Avast! a try. I can't believe I waited a whole year to do this; it must've slipped my mind during the period I attempted to reprogram my thoughts and erase my friends from memory. My handwriting's quite legible thankfully, although sloppy. At least I don't write like a doctor.

Hey man you need this www.eeye.comIt is by far the best windows protection program available. You can use it free for a year and then you pay. Its meant for big companies, and it is VERY GOOD at what it does. I have used avast and its crap. I have used avg and its worse. Blink is what you need. I became a mac user because of Microshits bogus excuse for an OS, but if I knew this was available I might have not jumped ship. My fiance' uses it currently and we have had not a single virus in over 1 and a half years.

I haven't had a single virus in my entire life, and don't even use antivirus software.

I install Avast every now and then to do a check, but it never finds anything. I've also tried other software, but it was total garbage (cough - norton cough cough - panda - cough). I also do spyware checkups every now and then. Nothing. Not surprising though, as I never visit any suspicious websites and never do anything stupid.

In case you still want to know about the Korean word, it simply means application software (ÀÀ¿ë ÇÁ·Î±×·¥: ung-yong p-ro-g-ram). I guess you installed Korean game to you computer?

... wow, ultra-secret and old member. xD Hi. It would be awesome if you and everybody else didn't go missing later. I always feel bad for the lack of many old members here.

*funf!!!!!* Well, continuing issues: - This error appears after starting up my computer, the instant I log on. - This error occurs whenever I attempt to play any music (.ogg, .mp3, .wav, .mid, etc.) with WinAMP. - This should be obvious. I checked the device manager, but there aren't any problem devices listed. I checked Windows Task Manager... and nothing. I'll list what I see for the heck of it; following the next error. - This happens the instant I try to connect or reconnect following a manual or ping-out disconnection. The only solution I've found so far is a reboot. The programs I had running as of that moment were: The following are on my taskbar: I may be naive, but none of those programs listed in the Applications and Processes of Windows Task Manager look suspicious to me. Except for the thousands of occurances of svchost.exe!

Hmmm... the only game I have which is Korean would be Ys II Special. I used to have Trickster, Ghost Online and Maple Story, but I removed all of those. I don't know whether or not any of those have Korean origins, but that's all I can think of for the time being.

What sound card do you have? Do you actually see it listed in the device manager? It sounds problematic. Download new drivers and download.

FM-77: My card is a... actually, all my computer tells me is Realtek AC'97 Audio for VIA (R) Audio Controller. Anyhoot, I decided to research my issues after a boot-up scan prior to messing with possibly important files in the System32 directory. Which means I failed to find them on search engines and came here to post them. X) They are: fccdawvs.dll kltyhiab.dll urqRIApM.dll All infected by TratBHO, and all located in the System32 folder. Edit: Found Realtek's site. I'm going to update my audio drivers, followed by my dialup modem drivers. Also: Can't find Conexant SoftK56 Data Fax Modem drivers beyond 7.3.0.0; either I already have the latest version, or it eludes me. Ah well.

Woohoo! Bet you've been hit by trojan viruses like I was!
Boy, was that ever fun!
I ended up reinstalling Windows cuz I couldn't get back into it after the virus cleaning program tried to remove all the rogue DLL files. :P

I've been battling viruses for 9 years now. It never gets any easier! I'm scared to remove the dlls yet, I will investigate them prior to taking any action. All because I forgot to update my software after my long hiatus from the internets. I guess I didn't figure I'd be online long enough to get hit. Apparently SOMEONE thought my computer needed protection though, throwing all of these damn trojans at me!

I remember when I got the casper virus. It actually introduced itself and said it'd fuck up my system. Why can't all viruses be that easy? The worst virus I've seen was one my dad picked up. It'd make his computer spontaneously reboot. It'd also close down programs which detected said virus or dared to speak its name. I never found out what the virus was.
