I don't know why I always thought Zwei!! was some odd puzzle/word typing game... *extremely ignorant person* After reading all this, I think I'd love to get my hands on this one (and the original even!) [Even nicer if it ever got translated into english and got a psp/ps2 port...] And since this just made me go off and look into Gurumin too - I'm really regretting not grabbing that when I actually saw it!

I think the biggest flaw in Gurumin are the controls. They aren't tight at all, and platforming, like jumping around and walking on small ledges, etc (which is the game's main thing) gets unnecessarily hard and frustrating because of this. Other than that, a very nice game.

Thank Wyrdwad! Zwei!! sounds really, really nice... Somehow I found almost next to no information searching for it. But the one tiny screenshot I did find made it seem as gorgeous as Zwei!! 2! (Argh! Too many exclaimation marks!) I want iiiiiit...! Too bad its in Japanese (and on PC, right?). RPGs lose 60% of the fun when one can't understand! Still, I'm definately going to think about this! Now Gurumin on the other hand I shall most definately get! Starting today (er... tomorrow..) I shall start harrassing the local shopkeepers! Its on PSP too isn't it? That makes it better still! (What made me give it up?! Was I struck blind?!)

Gurumin is on PSP. Zwei is on PS2.
As mentioned earlier.

Ah, actually no. I did blow my brain by looking up Zwei!! too much and thought it was only for the PC. *Puts all the blame on rpgamer* Even better if its there on PS2. God, the trailer was absoluely... adorable? I think that might be the only word that best describes it. Now I want it even more! That's it! I'm adding it to my 'harrassment list!' Ha... speaking of Lagend of Heroes - I had no clue about these games' existence until a couple of months back too! I only discovered it by wandering into a random game shop in a grump, quite disappointed by the PSP lineup available, when I noticed Tear of Vermillion rotting away in a corner, gathering dust. I was so charmed by it's cover (and the fact that it seemed a total old school rpg) that I quickly nabbed it. (Was cheap too! ) Though I haven't had the chance to play it, the opening amused me loads for some reason, and despite the language being almost... er... archaic... I think it seems really nice! A well translated game is VERY welcome though! By the way... Do I sound that much like a guy?

Nah, I don't hate it, I just don't like it. But I would give it a third chance if I could play it in English.

No no! Its totally fine! My fault anyways for being so lazy in updating the little infos on the side! (I'll correct that now!) It was actually incredibly hilarious to read that! My... Legend of Heroes sounds like its going to be quite an experience..! They're the next in my list to play (on handhelds), so I guess I'll be seeing soon how bad they truly are? Let's see. If the story is actually halfway good and not so totally totally ruined by this absolutely wonderful translation... well, I might like it!

Just be thankful if we don't have the same first names! (No, not Maggot... the other one I try not to use or say at any point.) Women have many, MANY annoying variations of my name, as do men -- but fewer. I can think of 5 girl names, 4 guy names and a unisex name that are all variations (not counting alternate spellings -- of which there are 3 or 4, so far) of my name -- it's not easy going to public places. You'll hear even a smidge of another person's name being called, and you'll instantly turn your head just to find out they're talking to someone else. At that point, your gender becomes meaningless. Zwei II, eh? I wonder what Germans would call it! I never played the first, but this looks really, really good! Infact I don't even see any simialarities between this and Gurumin -- because this just looks that impressive! Wait wait waaait... our heroes aren't little kids AGAIN, are they? Oh well, it's sure to be a hit anyway, that doesn't put me off one bit... nuh uh. I just hope the action's quick like an Ys game, or at least that it upstages Gurumin in many many ways. I'll totally order it! (After I get my study materials -- those come FIRST!)

Ok, so reading how you really thought the LoH trilogy was badly translated I just HAD to take some time out and try it out. So I played a bit of it a while back for breakfast. So the opening movie seemed nice enough, with the same old, done over a thousand times light and dark stuff (but then, meh, I like such clichéd stories anyways, so good enough!). From there on, the dialogue seemed to worsen, but not to the point of incoherence (well, actually it did at one point, but not that badly). It actually sounds like dialogues one might find in quick, rushed, low-quality scanlations? (The - 'I'm happy!' 'Yes!' 'yes!' '*grin*' types [and I'm describing it very badly, but it basically sounds like people unfamiliar with english are trying to talk in it or just translating everything exactly word by word and not catching the essence and feeling?]) Still, I felt like slapping 'child' Avin. I'm wondering if the characters were more easier to empathize with in the Japanese version? I played on till the first battle. I didn't mind that either really. Nothing dramatically shockingly innovative that has me going totally 'wow!' but nice enough (yes, quite like lunar actually!). The thing I'm happiest about is that there are no voices! Eh heh heh... I think I would have slit my throat if there were one of those dramatic shouts of 'Eiimeeeellllleeee!' or something that are obligatory in such games. Soooo... overall, I don't think I mind it much... yet. It seems nice enough, though nothing great to rave about. Perfect actually, since I always tend to keep a blah game for my handheld while playing an amazing one on the PS1/PS2 (or the opposite!) Seems good for travelling too! (Ys VI was not airport friendly! D: ) Aaaaand... I've seen far more annoying games, methinks? Atleast this is not totally grey! I guess I'm just lucky that I never played the original Japanese version like you! That way I can't compare. And perhaps getting charmed by the booklet art helps too! Wow... I've totally totally drifted away from Zweii!! I'm so sorry! (And thank you!) (To drift away from Zweii!! some more...) Unsavory Maggot: I sympathize! I usally go through the same situation, since my actual name is pretty common too! X'D Thankfully, no guys have the same name as me though!

Yeah, I don't think the US PSP ports of LoH are half as bad as anyone says they are -- but given the interesting bit about the different battle engines, I'm inclined to try the Japanese versions when possible. I do enjoy the Lunar-esque gameplay, and the storyline which even still is seemingly cliched, is still storytelling at its finest. Yes, even with a sub-pal tlansration, it's stirr pletty good. Well, that's good about your name, haha! If it started with "krrr" and ended with a "ssss" sound, I'd be worried. (Even Adol has a dang variation of my name, as well as various religious sects!) Of course, technically I have two names; the long one, and the short one. Regardless of which I have people use though, the confusion factor remains the same. I've determined since 5 years ago that I'd legally change my entire name to something rare but not really weird or off the wall... I just haven't thought up a good name yet. The names I do think up, by some coincidence (or possibly bad karma, if you're into that kind of thing) are often heard on TV commercials and radio stations either the day after or 2 years after at the longest, therefore voiding said name and bringing me back to point a. That even happened to me when I thought up a crazy breakfast sandwich idea involving pancakes! Oh, yeah, and Zwei 2!! That'll be awesome! Edit: Actually, I'd prefer it if they had like 5 characters. I just like the German word for 5; it's like that onomatopoeia for falling on the floor.

Haha, yeah! Funf!!!!! will be awesome, no doubt. Maybe Funf will be a clumsy wannabe villain. Ah, yeah. I felt slightly uncomfortable playing LoH II because of that. I try to relate with the male characters of RPGs, but when a girl gets my name, that just complicates matters. Crazy unisex names... though my sister got her name because mom thought she was having a baby boy, haha; then she goes on with a crazy story about another woman with the same name being Miss America. My parents must have a crazy sense of humor, naming all of us kids like that. I have another sister named after antibacterial soap, and my brother who passed away long ago was named after that kid from The Omen.

Unsavory Maggot: If it helps, I think your name is nice! Be proud of it! Perhaps one day you'll be famous and whenever they'll say the name they'll think of you? Hey, that's better than my friend, who knows two kids named Lemonjello and Oranjello. Those have gotta be the worst names I've ever heard, for anyone, ever. Their parents should be arrested purely on principle, I think. -Tom I don't think I'll ever even name my cats that! About LoH: Let's see..? I'll tell you my opinion once I actually get round to properly playing and finishing atleast one game (though it'll probably take me months, snailpaced that I be!). Somehow usually reading a bad review puts me off from a game real quick and I nitpick a lot then, but since surprisingly I still did not mind it, there's hope!

Heh... Tangerine and Colgate are the weirdest girl names I've heard so far. Next thing you know, there'll be a kid named Sensodyne, or Aquafresh. Listerine, even. Oranjello just sounds like a damn Pokemon. I could go on about people named after religious sects, but I'm just going to say America's run out of ideas. There's also Christopher Walken, Christopher Reeve, Christopher Columbus, Christopher Robin, (I've been hearing those last two my whole life.) Christopher Lloyd... the possibilities are endless! When you think of me, just think of an actor, a historical figure, or a cartoon character. In the meantime, I'll be busy trying to come up with a moniker nobody's ever heard of. Geez, is Falcom done with Zwei II yet?! They need to hurry up!

Nope. Zwei!!'s an oddity in that all the files are encoded and there is no separate file for the opening. It's probably buried in the giant bin.dat or the millions of DAL files. And you haven't seen anything yet for the Pet Monitor! I just started goofing around in the dungeons and now the doggy can go to them. ^O^ It just picked up a Pudding from a chest in Kayapa Forest! :D I think it just tried to go to Ruins but couldn't cuz it's not actually open yet. ^^ I should leave the thing going all night and see how much it manages to get! ...... Aw nuts, it can only get the Wind Collar at the moment cuz my characters are only at level 3. ^^ I think it also can't access any other dungeons due to low level. 9__9 You can read up on the Pet Monitor fun here! homepage1.nifty.com/sugimo/falcom/other/zw_gd4.htm

They're really keeping us waiting on info for this one, but judging by the latest mail magazine I think we're gonna get some new info in the next one.
"In the next mail magazine we should be able to talk about some new information! When we say new information, of course we mean news relating to 'that title'."

What would really be nuts is if they meant some other project aside from Zwei II. Either way, it's gotta be good news.
