Hi im new here,i just happen to come upon this site at random and seen it was all about Ys Series,im a fan but never got to play many of the games,my first was Ys Vi The Ark of Napishtim for the ps2 and since then i have always wanted to play the others,as soon as i get some money im planning on importing Ys I-V for the ps2 also i love the music for Ys,i have downloaded Ys I-Vi(ps2) + Origins soundtracks to listen to on my computer,i once tried the Emulator for the NES Ys I-II and the SNES for Ys III,IV,V i found they were great games but still more interested in the PS2 versions,well i guess thats all i got to say about myself that i can think of ^^"

Beware of the PS2 Ys games. They are abysmal. Seriously, they are some of the worst games produced in the history of video games.

Ys 4 for PS2 ranks as the worst game I have played. It's worse than Ice Climber!!!

everyone has their own opinion on games,you may not like it but i might you never know until you try ^^ though the SNES version i played on Emulator was really good but its not the same when playing on a emu then the real thing,and since my ps2 can play imported games then might aswell give it a try,also thanks for the welcome

Yep, that's true, but I think you will agree. Almost nobody likes those games, and those that do... they apparently like everything.

your quick to judge no offence to you though,but all i can say is when i do get it ill let you know my opinion on it and if i dont like ohwell i probably will like the others on ps2,i seen some gameplay of Ys I or was it II and also of III on the ps2 and i thought they looked amazingly good

Ys I-II Eternal Story on PS2 is very nice, but it is better on PC. Ys III on PS2 is quite nice as well, although a lot of people dislike it. At least it is very very pretty.

Ys IV and V........ seriously.

i see,well ill be getting them in order so I then II then III and sometime ill get the other two,but i highly doubt they will ever beat Ys VI,i love that game so dang much if only Ys Origin was ported to the ps2 -_- then that may beat VI

Yeah, Ys VI is hard to beat*. Very cool game. And finally someone who agrees that Ys is better without the damn anime!

*Ys 1-5 (old versions) beats it, easily. But that's just me talking. I'm a retro nut.

well as i was saying i never got to play the originals sadly -_- my first one was Ys Vi and well lets just say i fell inlove with it as soon as i started it ^^" and since then ive wanted to play the others

At least the old games don't feature any anime (not in the games or in the manuals/artwork)... except the PCE versions, but I don't like those anyway (except Ys IV).

i dont mind the anime looks from what i seen but i think Ys Vi had a great art style and look way better then some anime style, Ys VI and Origin have the best art style and looks

Order the ps2 games. I loved them all big time. Some of the releases are not the best games but they are still very good. Ys 4 ps2 gets put down alot, but IMO it has a really good soundtrack and is better than the pc engine "rendition" (watch the war start now haha). Ys 1 and 2 is a port of "eternal" and Ys 3 is a very good remake. Have not played Ys 5 ps2 yet but it looks to be a bit better than 4.

Also, don't you ever get tired of criticizing Ys III PS2, Wyrdwad? xD I already got sick of defending this game always when you say unfair things about it.

And don't worry Justinzero, you are not alone. xD Despiting I recognize Ys IV PS2 is a bad game, I enjoyed it quite a lot and I just beated it yesterday.
Though, if you do like Ys V PS2, you are liking it alone. xD I didn't find a soul who enjoyed it so far. (Even so I'm going to beat it. @.@ My mind will malfunction meanwhile.)

Well as soon as i can get it ill tell you my opinion,but by the sounds of it alot of people hate it which gives me even more of a reason to try it and see for myself how bad this game is
